Nice pics! :grd: That front sway bar with the dropped mounts, I never saw that before, is that something home made or aftermarket?

The assembly appears to be made in a backyard as the holes/cuts/welds on it are crooked and the welds dont connect. As a matter of fact, personally they look like channel iron out from under a single wide trailer. :fishing1:

I think I'd disconnect that and go for a ride and see how it does. Alot of guys take their stabilizers off anyway for what articulation they can get, so it's common that 4x4's don't have stabilizers.

I think it's a good idea, cheaper then buying the brackets for it.

i agree with Swims Maybe try rewelding some areas and give it a good painting to make it look more professional.

I am dying to tear everything out from underneath of it and strip/grind and repaint it. I'd really like to do a full cab off restoration, but thats a 'back home' project for us army folk. My luck I'll get it all pulled apart, get the cab sanded and the axles stripped and get deployed/restationed and risk losing the whole thing. As time consuming as it will be I think I'll just do one piece at a time..and this is beginning to look like a good place to start! I'll unbolt them and take it for a trip like HotRod had suggested, if I prefer to reinstall them I'll make sure they look good. Thanks for pointing them out, I had never really even brought them into question.

Unless you live somewhere that the sway bar is required to pass inspection I would throw it in the scrap pile. It is required here but when I got antique tags I no longer needed to get it inspected. With lift springs you dont really need it but wit stock springs you can have a lot of body roll. If you really want to keep it I would get rid of the big ole steel brackets, put it back up where it needs to be, and make end links for the axle end with heim joints on each end down to the spring plates. It will look 100% better IMO.

Not only look better, would be more functional too IMO.

It's a 4" lift and 33" tires. I am looking to move up to 35's for sure.

Sharp truck MIke, Welcome to GMSB. Glad to see these pics. I was going to install a 4in kit I have on one of mine that I intend to run 33's on. I decided to save the 4in lift for the other truck. Glad I did. That truck looks awesome, but I'd agree, you need to step up to 35's and it'll be about just right. I notice you have the BFG AT Radials. is that the 33 x10.50 tire? That's exactly what I was hoping to go with on my stock height K1500. I didn't want the extra 2in of width, but BFG is about the only one I know of that makes that size. Everyone else is 33x12.50's.

Dont like the wheels though.

I would like to see those finned, General Lee wheels on it, I don;t know the proper term for it. Old77 told me once but I have CRS, lol...
