Original suspension specifications

I lifted my 1984 GMC K2500 Sierra when new. I'm unsure what size lift I put on it. How can I determine what the original factory height was from axle tubes to frame. Online search for specs are not helpful.

A stock truck measures around 8.5” from the top of the front axle tube to the bottom of the frame, any difference is your approximate lift.

Thanks that's very helpful for the resto. Do you know if the same measurement would apply for the rear axle to frame? My truck came with 8600 lb GVWR.

I’ve never seen a measurement for the rear but the frame shape, etc would make the measurement different.

So it's been lifted since new? And you are restoring it now? Imho, the truck has been lifted it's entire life, restoring it to that "day 2" condition would seem more proper to me.

Set the truck level (or slightly tail down. The original suspension engineer liked them that way).
