So I did an intro a while back but I had some set backs and wasn't able to do anything with my '77... Until today! Here's some pictures. It's a bit rough but over all in good shape. I need to figure out what engine this is. I'm almost positive it's a 350 from (what my grandpa SAYS is) an '87. It originally came with the 400. So he's got, what seems to be a newer style 350, with an older intake carb on it (He ground the intake manifold to match the heads :whymewhyme: ). So it's gonna take a little work.

Any way, it's a '77 Scottsdale. Pretty dirty/dusty inside and out (it's sat in a rock pit in prineville, or for several years now). Saddle tanks. Unknown engine/transmission. I've got a tailgate, tail lights, headlights, and a straight front bumper for it. I'm excited to get working on it!

Future plans: By the beginning of summer- Body work, wheels/tires, engine work (just to get running), windshield.

By the end of summer 2013- Edelbrock performer rpm power pack, 4" lift, 35x11.5" tires, sanded down/primed/epoxied and ready to paint.

Let me know what you think!

Thanks guys!

-Russell

You got your work cut out, but it can sure be done.

So rather than a 2nd Intro, since you've already introduced yourself, how about we make this your 77 Scottsdale C10 Build Thread? You've got it started off right with BEFORE you started pics.

Thanks! I'm excited. It's a little rough but the body is in good condition and the interior could have been worse. A little body work, clean up the interior, and get 'er driving... As soon as I get it where I can work on it! It's gonna be a little while (a month or so) before I can REALLY get going on it but I'll make sure I post it here. I guess that makes this the official build thread? haha

It was originally a Scottsdale K10 with a 400. Now it has a 350 (assumed). I'm hoping this is the 350 with the "fast burn" heads (or whatever they're called). If so I'll be slapping a vortec intake on there when I get my power pack.

Thanks guys! I'll be sure to keep updates coming as I dive into it. It's finals week here at school so it's been a little crazy but this Christmas break I'll be getting some stuff done on it hopefully!

Also, just throwing it out there. What do you guys think of a similar paint job to what its got, with the green center stripe, silver on the top/bottom but both with a little charcoal or something in it to make it darker and a matte color? ... Instead of gloss. It won't be for quite a while that I can get it painted but I'm tossing around ideas.

Has anyone seen these grille's around? I found them on 4x4 Mecca. I like the idea of putting aux/driving lights in the grille space. Does any one have any designs like this or something similar? Just curious. I think I'd like to do something like this eventually. It'll be this or something in a custom bumper.
