It's here!!

First thought- it's a CA Lawrence brand window made in CA.

The quality seems good. I really like the powder coated frame and the tinted glass. The latch seems a little fragile. If the metal tabs endure a lot of opening any closing, I don't know how long before the tabs fatigue and snap off.

In MY case, I'll probably not secure it every time as I have a shell that is secured and a high end alarm.

Hopefully it goes in easy. Stay tuned.

Price: LMC is $229. Free shipping but a $20 oversize fee. It took one week from order to delivery.

It's finished!

I learned two things today.

1. It's possible for one man to remove and replace a rear window.

2. I'll never remove and replace a rear (or front) window ever again.

What a PITA! I can no longer feel my fingers, arms or shoulders.

It looks great. It's tight as hell but I expect that will loosen up once it takes a set. I really like having the glass tinted rather than having tint on the glass.

I love having a rear slider, and all the trucks I've had though the years I either bought with one or installed one. That said, I prefer the 4 piece with the slider that has the two pieces of glass that slide in each direction, which is what my square currently has, but it's an old aftermarket unit and has is terribly rattly and leaks like a sieve. That LMC unit is mighty attractive and has a bigger opening than mine.

I will have to consider it as my LMC wish list keeps growing and growing....

Saved you the trouble and went to moog website

So you are using a parts website to validate what your vehicle model is called? You have an 80 and think its a 3500? Do you not have fender emblems? :rotflmao:

I mean, maybe its actually a 3500 and GM was just being cheap with the emblem size so they didn't put in the extra 00's? I'm not an expert, just what I've seen. Also, if we are going off parts websites.. LMC says 1980 is a K25 pickup(and I would trust them over rockauto or Moog)

Back to the actual topic though.. that new window looks great on the white... it's just ok on my black/silver truck. I also thought it was a real PITA to install mine by myself. I think the next time I do a window it will be one with the chrome insert and I'll definitely spring for the right tools for the job. Trying to make it work with the tools I had ended up not being fun at all.
