K10= 1/2 ton 4x4 Chevy truck
K20= 3/4 ton 4x4 Chevy truck

K25 and K2500= 3/4 ton GMC 4x4 truck. I have heard 25 and 2500 used to refer to the same truck, but the 2500 was probably a higher option GMC truck, like a Sierra Grande. There may be a GMC K15, which would be a 1/2 ton 4x4, but I'm not sure on that.

If you go on LMC or pretty much any other major square body parts site, they have a drop down for 73-87 GMC K25 and or K2500. Hell, even NAPA shows it.

squareroot.. i am fully aware of your opinion on what engine choice to use..

but have you been using this forum 3 years and havent heard of k5, k10, k15, k20, k25, and so on?
im not gonna lie... i dont believe that lol

c means its 2wd, too. so same numbers but c10, c20, etc

But, if you were to shitcan the engine and LS swap it, it would all be good?

well, technically, maybe.

If you removed all issues from powertrain(assumed by doing a swap) it only needs maintenance and creature comforts.

Creature comforts being rust removal(frame), body panel work, a floor, cosmetics, paint, a new hvac controller thing, a new set of sliders for it, a radio that doesnt have to be punched, new plastic for the gauge cluster + a new needle for volts, weatherstrips, brake line, fuel tank, etc..

you know, the small things.

It depends on the year whether it is referred to as a 25 or a 2500, apparently GM could never make up their mind. Mine has 25 badges and is a 4x4 so...

Unfortunately all it really means is that no one reproduces any of the emblems.

Yup, Chevy has the C/K 10/20/30 and GMC has the C/K 15/25/35 (My wheeler project was a GMC K15). I believe the 10-35 designations were when the trucks were C/K, when they went R/V they got the 1500/2500/3500 for both Chevy and GMC.

I didn't read this entire thread I'll admit, but if you lived closer to me those factory aluminum framed sliders go for $20 around here.
