Don't like my OEM one piece rear glass. Looking at a new slider. Have heard lots of folks say they didn't like theirs and swapped to the one piece.

However- I have and will always have a shell on my truck.

Looking at "new" sliders, they say they aren't like the OEM pieces from yesteryear.

Powder coated aluminum frames, 4 pane configuration and curved glass. Being thinner they use the factory non-slider window seal. Plus, they have better locks and come tinted.

This all sounds good to me. At $200 I think I likey.

Anyone have a new style aftermarket rear sliding window? Please elaborate.
I have an Original one that has a broken pane behind the Drivers head. I needed a new one quick and the Tempered Glass would take too long, so I bought one from a shop back in 1979. If interested, PM me and pay for shipping.

He doesn't have the bar that attaches to the 2 sliders that the latch attaches too. Find him the 2 center bars.;):)

It's here!!

First thought- it's a CA Lawrence brand window made in CA.

The quality seems good. I really like the powder coated frame and the tinted glass. The latch seems a little fragile. If the metal tabs endure a lot of opening any closing, I don't know how long before the tabs fatigue and snap off.

In MY case, I'll probably not secure it every time as I have a shell that is secured and a high end alarm.

Hopefully it goes in easy. Stay tuned.

Price: LMC is $229. Free shipping but a $20 oversize fee. It took one week from order to delivery.

Looks good, has a modern look to it. Much darker than I expected at least in the garage. Do they state what tint level is is?

They say dark grey. It's darker than I thought also. But I live in Yuma, the sunniest place in the U.S. so I'm good. Lol

It's actually more complicated than that...

73-74 had it as 1500, 2500, 3500

then 75-80 had the sierra classic style badge in post #72

81-up then went back to 1500, 2500, 3500

You get a lot of sunny days but just about any sun through an untinted back window of a square is like a magnifying glass.

You did say you ran a cap. Is it going to be too much tint with a cap? There's still time to take out the rear window of the cab and front window on the cap and have a whole wide open space.;)

If it has no carpet or insulation on the bed bottom, the sound from the exhaust is pretty loud.

K10= 1/2 ton 4x4 Chevy truck
K20= 3/4 ton 4x4 Chevy truck

K25 and K2500= 3/4 ton GMC 4x4 truck. I have heard 25 and 2500 used to refer to the same truck, but the 2500 was probably a higher option GMC truck, like a Sierra Grande. There may be a GMC K15, which would be a 1/2 ton 4x4, but I'm not sure on that.

If you go on LMC or pretty much any other major square body parts site, they have a drop down for 73-87 GMC K25 and or K2500. Hell, even NAPA shows it.
