If you build a 377 those heads will need steam holes, might have the machine shop drill them now. BTW I think your 350 block is salvageable. Which saves you lots of money,no bore,no new pistons,no bearing spacers. My .02

Machine shop quoted $350 to do the heads for me. That includes some welding for a deep score in the one head, checked, tested, cleaned and milled as necessary. He does not recommend attempting to repair that block however.

Me too. Oh well, it opens up the possibilities. I'm probably going to strip this one of everything usable and scrap it or put it up for sale really cheap in case someone wants to mess with it.

One just has to lower their standards, lol

I'm still running with these terrible gouges in a cylinder wall:

For the life of me though, I cannot remember if I replaced that rod or not. I hope I did, but something tells me that I did not.

Well, looks like it's possibly going to be a 350 block based build after all. This 010 block followed me home today. Looked decent for the price and I'll clean it up and see what I have to work with.

Mabey I'm going blind but what damage are we talking about? the Heli coil sticking out? That can be redrilled and a new one installed. Deck it to 9" and punch the block it currently has std bore pistons in it. Mabey someone would have to draw a circle or arrow in that pic cause apparently, I'm blind.

If that's a press fit rod end/pin probably a non-issue since the pin would not spin.

Those were my thoughts and posts on day 1. Put a big sert in it and motor on or make an insert as needed. But I would bet the machine shop doesn't want to chance the liability or the word of mouth on that deal.

That's the area I'm talking about. Simply not worth the time, money and effort to do a new coil, have the block decked, and still have a block with a coil in that spot. I'm sure it can be reused by someone, but the machine shop I use will not touch it and it's cheaper for me just to start with a new block.

He will not come out and say it directly, but I've suspected all along that is likely exactly why he will not do anything with it.
