I have 3 of these. 2 are off of the burnt cab 84 C20, the 1 good one was off of the 85 Bent Frame C20 I had bought. Sooooo, of the 2 trucks I was hoping to make 1 matching set. The Rubber/Plastic, whatever it is, on the one 84 C20 truck was melted and burnt up. Anyone know how I can go about removing the rubber/plastic from the one mismatched part so I can install it on the other one that I have a matching mate too? The retaining tabs seem to be very brittle and I'm afraid I'd break them. Any ideas or anyone ever done it before?

There's a set of these in about this same condition on eBay and the guy is asking $200 for the set. I don't need these since both of the trucks I currently have has a nice brush guard with push pads and the C20 has a nice set of these on it already too. So maybe I can sell these for about 1/4 of what this guy on ebay wants, or trade them for some parts or product I need for my K10/20 project.

I'm sure there's a market for these if you choose to sell.

Just about every part I have that I won't use on the K10 is going to be for sale.

They will pop off pretty easy, I needed to replace one on mine and found one at pullapart, unbolted the back and popped it off with a screw driver

So you used a screwdriver to move the tabs that hold it in? I was just afraid they're brittle and would break off. So I thought maybe there was trick to get them off without screwing it up. All I want to do is take the one off the mismatched metal and put it on the matching metal so I have a matching set. If I bought a new one, then the new rubber would look different than the old one.

I pried the front with a screwdriver and used big pliers to get the tabs moved where I wanted them too

This was my exact plan. Pry in the front, and pliers to hold the tabs in on the back side. I was just afraid I'd damage the tabs. That's what I'll be trying. Not like I have much to lose.

I got it done using the pry on the front and squeeze the tabs with pliers in the back method. Still plenty of snap and holding power when I installed it on the other chrome.

Now I'm wondering if I should sell them alone or reinstall them back on the bumper and sell the bumper with them installed.

I would sell them separate as the demand is higher for a product that is no longer available. You can by new bumpers for under $200. I found mine on ebay, but they were being sold with a bumper. There was no movement on their sale, so I asked if they would separate them. it was a lot cheaper than those new ones listed on ebay.

Not to mention, easier and much cheaper to ship. I can sell the bumper locally. These ones aren't like new. Though it real good shape. I'd probably have to rate them an 8.5 out of a 10. If yo look close there is couple scuffs on the black strips where someone did push something, and even though the outside chrome is nice, they are rusty on the backside.

I've never seen a set that aren't rusty on the back, I'd rate it higher, how much would you want for them?

Here's some that SOLD on ebay. Fairly valuable suckers obviously.

Sold Feb 13, USED with minor scuffs and chrome dulling $129.99+ $15.25 shipping.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/81-87-Chevy...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

Sold March 27, Used, Slightly bent, with light scuffs and scratches $90 FREE Shipping
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1981-1987-C...ash=item466030d069:g:hZcAAOSwB-1Yuh8P&vxp=mtr

Sold Feb 15, Used, Couple light rubs on the pads and 1 deep scratch, $169.99 + $15.25 shipping.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/81-87-Chevy...ash=item1ec19efe6d:g:ggYAAOSwr~lYpJKh&vxp=mtr

This guy got $275 for the complete set up of Bumper, Push Pads and Mounting Brackets.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1981-1987-C...ash=item3f761c5bc4:g:RkwAAOSw241YYzW2&vxp=mtr

Then that one guy who has his pads only listed for $200. Can't find that one right now, I can't imagine they sold but that's why I was checking for sold. I was looking for that one. I'd be tickled shitless to get $200 for my bumper and pads. Of course I don't see my self shipping a complete bumper due to expense and a real PITA to make a package to ship it in.

Not real sure what I'd want for them from someone here. I always like to see guys here get good deals, but atm, I'm broke af bigtime since I haven't worked in many months and waiting for my SSID to get approved so I need all I can get, and sell all the parts I possibly can to get by, and also trying to get my K10/K20 project done so I can sell what I won't need off the C20.

It could be the forum. You'd have to delete some of your PM's. Don't forget to check your sent messages too and delete some of those. Supporting Members get bigger mailboxes and staff gets **** ton. Mine is to damn big. I've got over 5000 pms in mine and that doesn't include the sent messages. I need to clean mine out too.

Did you at least get to read the message?
