I have an air lift system and I like to think out loud. I've looked at different bagging systems and they look like a 4 link, bags and shocks. Anyone done it? Does it mean complete removal of the springs? I would like to use my existing airlift bags and just add a four link system. Is this safe? The bags attach to the frame and axle not the four link like I have seen.

I would like to have something like that on my Burb also, bagged rear with 4 link and tracking bar and sway bar.

Some large trucks have the leaf springs run from the front mounts to the axle u-bolts, then there is a plate under the u-bolts that drops down and the bags are mounted between the plates and the frame. They are actually cast iron. I always wondered in my mind if something like that could be fabbed/welded up. Something like this. It would still require a tracking arm. I always wondered if this mod could be grafted into a Burb.

I can't see a large picture of that. It takes me to a site that doesn't show me the large version. I had ordering a 4 link from summit in mind but I've never done it before it would need some kind tracking bar. These burbs are so cool either jacked way the hell up or slammed way low. I have 2in spindles in the front already and now I'm not going to be towing heavy it needs to scrap a little.

Also wondering how the shocks would mount.

I believe they would mount to the axle like factory?

Or just leave the main spring and one or two others in the leaf pack and use those bags ya got to keep it simple?

And you can add a pair of torque rods to eliminate any axle wrap and you wouldn't have to worry about a tracking bar.

How much are the 4 link kits going for?

Another route is to make the 4 link like the 80's Caprices had with the two top links on angles so they act like a tracing arm and a upper link at the same time, eliminating the need for a separate tracking arm.

I know this pic has leaf springs in it but you get my drift.....

I like the triangulated. Here's a pair from summit for 330.

Keep the air bags put some drop shocks in call it good. I would need an air compressor too. It would be fun to weld a piece of angle to frame and throw sparks going down the road.

That guy sure won't have to worry about rear end wrap. It's not going anywhere.

This is probably the most inexpensive way to go, but it would be impossible to weld the top mounts on like they show in the picture with the body on. I would have to make a crossmember (steel pipe) outside the frame and box it into the frame. I just hate welding underneath a vehicle. Bolt on is 650 and this is 330. Unless I find a cheaper bolt on this might the way to go.
