CRAP. The truck was running, I hadn't unlocked the passenger side, and I had no key for the passenger door, aside from the one in the ignition. PANIC

So, every early square comes with it's own door unlocking tool. As long as the hood is not the cable release type (option on early squares) open the hood. Remove the bail wire that holds the brake master cylinder lid on. Snake the bail wire under the vent window rubber, twist it around and pull the vent window latch forward.

The bail wire works just like the tool Sad Sack posted. Newer squares take 1 second longer, you need to pull the release button in with wire tool before twisting the vent latch.

SNORT. I used to live in Naches, back in the fifties. My parents owned Whistling Jack Lodge, but my mom couldn't deal with the seclusion the winter brought, so we moved to Naches and my dad stayed with his state highway job [eventually taking charge of the east side of the Northcross, when it opened.

Interestingly, the brochures the current owners promote don't show them as part of the history, but also shows the lodge as being built significantly later than it actually was.

Anyway, I'm an hour from Yakima, near a place called Mattawa.

We are, literally, in the middle of everywhere. We can go northwestish to Wenatchee, northish to Ephrata, North-eastish to Moses Lake, eastish to Othello, southeastish to the Tri-Cities, or westish to Yakima and it's all around an hour to those versions of civililization.

We only get to the Yakima area a time or two a year. All our shopping is done in the Tri-Cities.

Hmm. I'll have to see how that works. The heavy, high tensile wire used around here to hold up apple tree limbs just might make one.
I had my truck unlocked with one and it was super slick, even pushes in the little button, me leaving keys in truck not so slick.

My first thought was to just pinch the fuel line from the tank.

As for the window crank...
Just slip the edge of a shop rag in between the plastic washer/disc and the crank base. Then with just a little tension on the ends of the rag, slowly saw back and forth just as if you are using the edge of the rag to "saw" the regulator shaft off.
The rag will catch the clip and roll it right off.

Once ya get the hang of it, you can take a crank off before you can get that "tool" out of the drawer you might of put it back in.
A shop rag always goes to the bone yard with me....sometimes 2 rags...a left and right side one...lol
