My order arrived from Cobra transmission so I was able to get moving on things.

The new bushing/seal installer kit worked nice for doing the bushings.

Went with Alto Red frictions and Kolene steels. Not really needed but the price difference was minimal.

Was able to get the pump, forward, and direct assembly's built out and everything moves nicely. Air checked good too.

And that is pretty much where I left things for the night.

One minor gripe I have, I realize they are all this way, is that the banner kit (or any tier kit) comes with extra parts but no bill of materials.

The transfer case kits I’ve used are this way too, either extra or parts for another application.

Which is fine, except it would be nice to know that the while you only need one, that there are two extra sealing rings, or extra lip seals. At a minimum, that there are qty 3 of this, 1 of that, 2 of those. Just at a minimum, it would be nice to know these are in fact the same seals, to get rid of the staring and measuring trying to figure out if they are different or not. Not a big deal but you know…

In other news, I placed an online order at 11:30pm at the napa by the shop for a seal and can of cooler clean, 6:03 this morning I get the email and text it’s ready for pickup. So that’ll be ready to pickup after work.

When air checking, it was pretty cool to see the piston moving and how much the forward return spring moves.

I rebuilt my NP205 last year and agree, it was quite frustrating to see half the "Master Kit" not needed, or even identified for what application it was for. Just a bag of parts, seals, and gaskets. Obviously, the NP205 was used throughout a wide variety of makes and models, but still, frustrating.

Mounted the fixture to my bench. There is a bit of an issue, that being that the bench top is a piece of 3/8 or 1/2 sheathing plywood and part of it has some 1/4" Masonite on it and basically no structure under that top so with the weight hanging off the bench top starts to give. The other issue with these transmissions is the mounting, I drilled the holes 3/8 which is great, except that MaMopar used 7/16 bolts for the bellhousing. The other, other issue, or thing I need to make is a short arm, to make it asymmetric which I think would suit most bellhousings better. The equal length arms is perfect for a third member though.

Other than the bench wanting to give it up, the fixture itself is very solid.

Got the servos and accumulator cleaned and new seals and rings installed.

Sprag installed somewhat time consuming and tricky as it is not a unitized design on these. But got it done and and sprag does sprag things.

Low reverse drum installed along with low reverse band and band hardware. My understanding is most shops consider the low reverse band a hard part and will reuse the old one, they aren't very expensive so I installed a new one.

Gear train and clutches installed. I added the jackstand to keep the bench from calling it quits. Intermediate band in place too.

Pump installed and torqued.

Installed the intermediate band hardware and the plug in the bellhousing. Threw the new pan on just to keep any dust out for now. and covered the pump input for now.

Closed the shop up, ate some Mexican food and went home.

Hope everyone had a good fourth and still have their digits.

Moved it off of the fixture and onto the cart. Got the new tail shaft bushing and seal installed, park rod cleaned and installed, governor installed and output bearing installed. Endplay checked out good. MaMopar gives a pretty wide open spec for that.

Just following directions here, installing the TransGo TF2 kit, I drilled things on the low side so firmer than stock but not death level. Except the 2-3 hole in the separator plate, it was in stock size beyond the range they give to drill. Also installed the gear command stuff so it will hold 1st or 2nd without upshifting and allow shifting back to low at any speed.

Ran by Napa to return a seal and this was there:

I still need to grind the 1-2 Governor valve, I'll do that at work.

Then threw that 8.75 3rd member on the fixture to give it a preliminary inspection.

Put some mineral spirits in the housing to see if the pinion seal was ok. Gears look good, need to check the sure grip clutches and determine if they will need replacing or not. Probably going to be a clean up, new bearings and seals.

@idahovette OK, I did set it up in one of the Monasets here at work to grind it. :)

I’m guessing they intend the installer to do it on a bench grinder or similar, the dimensions really are not critical. But it’s a within a half on the diameter of ‘A’

Waiting on the new cooler lines, but should be ready to reinstall into the car. I have some stuff I'd like to clean up while I have the access with the trans out first.

Got sidetracked for a few hours... Oops.
You must be registered for see images attach

Filled her up and with the rear in the air ran it though all positions on the the lift and took it for a spin. Just a couple of miles. Seems to work as it should. Shifts firm but not neck snapping, shift points are where I want them.

Now just need to double check everything and give everything a once over and clean up and I guess start putting miles on it.
