I know what they're called Dawg. Yes, they are tough hard to kill just like most I6 engines. I call them the Crooked 6 to bust the Dodge boys balls. Cuz they are freakin crooked and layed over. Even a Ford I6 can stand up straight.
Should they be called limp D*** dodges then? :p:happy175:

Dad always told me that if they are straight in a line, (weather leanin tower of piza or not) youll never kill em. He strongly believed that the physics of it is why they are so reliable.
Also the 73 stepper i learned to drive in had a 250 straight 6 runnin on 5... hasnt run in 10 years but i garuntee with a jug at the fuel pump, a squirt in the 2bbl and a yank of her choke and itll start right up! Partly why i wanna hot rod a 250 for my square! lol
Leaning Tower.... LOL, If you ever wanna wake up a Chevy I6 250, find a 230 head for it like off a 65 pick up. The 230 didn't have smog bumps in the head and smaller combustion chamber so higher compression by maybe a whole point, and it'll breathe more air. I ran a 230 for a while in a 62, not 235, but a 230 that we swapped into from a 65. With a 3 speed column shift it spanked all the Dodge 225 cars and Chevy 250 cars and was heavier. I mean, it was like racing turtles, but it still won. So with a 230 head on a 20 more cubes I6, it should do even better than the 230 and have about 9 to 9.5 compression instead of 8 to 8.5.

They weren't fast, just reliable and hard to kill just like all the I6 engines. Ford's 300 and Chevy 292 torque monsters weren't fast either but could pull a trailer straight up a wall and they too lasted forever and ever.

Made my day to see the ol’ HRPC back to his usual self. Mission accomplished.

Made a tool to be able to turn the pump after reassembly.

There are OE Miller tools for this but where is the fun in that.

Is it any good? I always liked TransGel for builds. Seems to be a mix of Vaseline and Transmission Fluid. I have used vaseline before to build a transmission. One of those late night 2am Trans Builds. Didn't have any TransGel, but the baby had some Vaseline so I used it. No problem whatsoever.

It works well. Thick enough to hold gaskets and thrust washers in place, plus lube moving parts so it's not a dry start take off, but yet clean and thin enough it melts down quickly and becomes part of the trans fluid without any harm. I know of a guy who used white lithium grease 1 time. I'd never do that in a transmission.

It's what I've seen others use, so I decided to give it a go.

I have used Vaseline on the transfer case rebuilds I've done and prior trans work without issue as well

The rest of the parts should (hopefully) arrive tomorrow. All of the parts I have at the moment are all kind of the "last things" in. Transgo TF2 shift kit, torque converter, deep pan (with drain plug), lube locker pan gasket.

My boss had stopped by the shop and dropped off this 8.75 third member. Its a 3.55 suregrip. His T7 roadrunner has a 3.23 suregrip in it now, I'm going to go through this one, hew will put it in the 69, then I'll go through the 3.23 third member and that will probably go in his wife's 74 Challenger.
