LMC Parts

Hey folks, just looking for opinions on parts from LMC Truck. Specifically wondering how mechanical parts such as brake hoses, spring shackles/bushings, and such compare to what's available from NAPA and OReilly's? For example I noticed that LMC brake hoses are half the price of NAPA, seems a little too good to be true. How do their cab and radiator mounting sets compare?

My opinion of most of LMC's stuff is, buy it only if they are the only place that has it. If you can get it else where then you'll probably get a better part. Especially avoid anything they sell that has or is rubber.

I will say the 88-94 GMT400 dash is a nice piece though. I hope they do a 95+ version soon....

I've had good luck with the stuff I've bought from LMC.
They have a fair amount of items made "overseas."
I try to find the most things at the same place so I don't have shipping fees from several places.
Classic Parts has a better shipping cost than LMC, unless it's oversized, then it's more obviously.
BUT, the important things (insert safety related) I tend to pay extra and get elsewhere.

I only buy parts from LMC when they are rare and or hard to find. Their shipping costs aren’t great, and their processing time is poor.

One example for cool stuff they have is the OEM tach kit. I’ve ordered some other stuff here and there (more than I remember likely) but I generally try to look around. IMHO they can have niche parts but otherwise I shop around . Classic Parts, Summit, etc. They have some nice trim and other stuff. When it comes to run of the mill everyday stuff, most parts are available locally.

I’m lucky that I have NAPA, O’Reillys, and Autozone all within 1000ft of each other, so I can park and walk. Surprisingly, Autozone is very helpful, especially with the rewards program. At least here, they have the most SBC performance stuff on the shelf. O’Reillys and NAPA are a toss up for brake parts and power steering pumps, and that sort of thing.

If it’s a bunch of parts that I need all at once, I’ll try Rock Auto.

agree. All the classic vehicle places, to me, are for hard to find parts. You want to one stop shop and have the wallet for it, they may be the place for you.

Agree with @ChuckN …. Easton and I decided we are going to sit down and calculate what we have spent in the 2 1/2 years on his project shipping and return shipping… I’m scared to know what that number is going to end up being…

For motor/driveline parts, probably Rock Auto is my #1 go to.
LMC puts out some pretty good videos on installing some of their trim and interior products.

I've bought quite a bit of stuff for my square over the yeas. It seems to me that a majority of the stuff is either made by the same overseas company, or is of similar quality no matter where you buy it. So it comes down to cost, shipping, and customer service. Last year when I ordered my headliner from LMC the holes for the sun visors were not stamped out correctly. I called them about it and after I sent them a couple of pictures they sent me another one at no cost. When I ordered my carpet I went with Rock Auto, but only because it was cheaper. They both sell ACC carpet.

I've had no issues with LMC but prefer to buy something in person like a local parts store in case I need to return it or do a physical comparison.
I purchased a new ignition switch last month from LMC for my '75 K/20 and was impressed with the quality. I probably order one or two items a year, just enough so they send me a new catalog.
I don't care to order online because of the cost of shipping and maybe the parts aren't up to snuff or incorrect.

This^^ 6 days to ship my order of small parts! And they charge a premium for that shipping too.

I've bought everything from suspension parts to interior parts, to cab mounts, to window rubber, bumpers, exterior trim, etc. from LMC. All quality stuff and fast shipping. No complaints.

@Soundmound agree with you. Ordered from them on Monday last week, my account still shows “processing “

Ordered from Summit on Wednesday, here Friday morning… and it was free shipping…
