Shhhhh…

It’s a 625 Street Demon, definitely shares some design cues and similarities to ye olde Thermoquad. Which is part of the reason I was curious to try it.

All I’ve done was bolt it onto the intake and hook the fuel line up. Might have adjusted the idle speed a touch, haven’t touched the mixture screws. Not bad so far.

Besides if we want to get down to it, Quadrajets ended up on small block Chryslers, and Carter made Quadrajets for Rochester when Rochester could not keep up with demand. So in a way it’s like extended family. Right?
put a street demon on the 350 long time ago before the LS swap. Was happy with it.

Yeah, Eagle GT came on Camaros, Montes, 2wd S10's and some sporty fwd's too. I believe the +4's didn't come along until the early 90's. The GT+4 came original on my dad's Bonneville SSE in '93.

Speaking of old Goodyears, you might appreciate these ones I found (in a ditch) a few weeks ago. They are "Eagle M+S" snow tires in the Iroc/GTA size. "V" speed rated too!

The date code is either '88 or '98.
I like the tread pattern on those. Kind of reminds me of a dirt sprint car tire.

Finally found a set of 31x10.5x15's and even came with a decent set of rims, we'll see how the paint holds up but they were $600 and the tires are pretty much new. Got them installed today along with the new tail light lenses

Cigarette lighter wasn’t working. Ordered a usb charger to replace it. Had to cut the hole a bit for the larger body, but I can charge a cell phone in the square now.

With all that I already have to do, now I've let my family talk me into the next build. I have all the pieces but they certainly are not in all the right places.
Have any of you folks ever done a full-top conversion on a K5 before? Share some info please if you have.

@nvrenuf has done a full top conversion. Although I don’t believe he has ever fitted a factory hardtop?

Oh yeah. He has a '91 like the one I have here. Maybe I'll reach out to him before I begin slicin' & dicin'.

@bucket @Strick I’ve never tried a top on mine but theoretically one should fit without my roll cage. I don’t plan to ever have a real top so my cage may be a couple of inches taller than it should be.

That windshield cut is a scary deal! The top of the windshield opening is curved so the measurements get tricky. I measured the center and then figured how far out from there it stayed the same, it was roughly the middle third (23.5” iirc). I also made a template that fit the corners to gauge a common body seam down to the length I was going to cut.

Get some 3/4” thin wall tubing from Home Depot etc to massage and make a tight fitting dowel to align the “new” upper frame.
