Haven't really spent much time in that thread. Pic was not taken for the challenge though so wouldn't that disqualify it?

Added wire to the fog lights that I'm gonna use for reverse lights. Heat shrink solder connectors and a extra piece of heat shrink over the connectors. Then mounted. Tomorrow I'll hook them up to reverse wires. Anyone know the wire colors for the reverse lights off hand?

It's not that picky.

As long as it's within the timeframe of the challenge it should be okay.

C'mon in. The water's warm!

Just a bunch of Weekend Warrior projects lately- drove 160mi to pick up a unopened TH400 Monster in a box transmission shift kit, mounted the vintage air box assembly and started to flush off some of the welds on the shaved firewall, only problem now is Summer is coming and it’ll be a struggle to focus on just either “Stormin Norman” or riding the bike on the back roads.

I changed the oil. I decided to stop using the Shell Rotella 10-40. I saw some videos about the wear additive, and detergent packages comparing gas and diesel oils and why you shouldn't run diesel oil in a gas engine. I used to run it because of the stock flat tappet cam. I went with the Super Tech 10-40. The engine now has an roller cam. I also stopped adding the Lucas oil additive. I used it because the truck sat for long periods of time. It's driven daily again so no more thick goop.

I also added 1" plastic spacer to the intake and carb. Why because on Engine Masters every engine made more power with a spacer.! I checked the choke and it has no power. So more work to do. I had it set slightly closed for I guess a year and it ran great. I opened it all the way and the engine lopes in the morning and doesn't want to idle. The throttle response after the engine warms up is better than before. Not sure if the spacer helped , or opening the choke made the difference?

I am also no expert in glass, but damage does seem to have a focal point directly below the latch.
I am wondering if someone tried breaking in? That's a goto spot. Probably made a noise and scared them? Just thinking criminally in all.

Maybe, no clue what happened. If they were breaking in I would think it would be to hot wire the truck because there is nothing valuable I keep in the cab. The bed has a hard cover, if someone were thinking they could break in and find a key for the bed. Or maybe they wanted to steal parts from the cab??? IDK. Like I said my first thoughts were: bird, or someone threw something like a rock. No idea if someone intentionally did it. Doesn't seem like foul play on the surface. If they were intending to drive the truck away it would be quite a challenge as my car is parked right beside the truck, my wife's is directly behind it and they would have to drive through the neighbors bushes to get through to their driveway. Our bedroom is also on the corner of the house directly above the driveway. Our hound dogs would have alerted us to some violators and I think we would have heard them.

That's good. It was suck to think someone trying to steal it. Dawgs are good, except one of mine alerts to squirrels and late night cats.

If you weren't fully coming off choke then your idle wasn't set right. May even have to go retime it depending on when you set the carb and timing.

If the choke is on it'll be on one of the fast idle cam steps and your idle will be high. Once it finally comes off the fast idle with the choke all the way open, your idle sets down to "normal" on the idle screw.

Make sure the choke is off all the way, turn up the idle a little bit then check base timing and THEN set your idle screw. May have to mess with air fuel screws too since choke was on when setting the carb.

Should be the green wire iirc, don't think it varied that much between years tbh.

Same, we knew his dad from the racing days when I was younger so I default to finding his videos if I need an answer on oil or engine stuff
