Sorry meant to post this in Auto Transmissions!!

Hey guys' I'm a newb and do not know a ton about engines or transmissions. I have a 1980 c10 "big ten" 350 with a 4 speed auto.

I've been having an issue with a loud, metallic knocking noise.I got a look yesterday and found that 2 out of the 3 torque converter to Flexplate bolts had snapped off, So basically the truck was running with 1 out if 3 bolts, causing it to wobble and cause the noise. Also the truck would act boggish in lower gears, and sometimes just randomly die as I came to a stop.

Now I have 2 out of 3 bolts replaced, the last bolt is currently wedged and stuck.I'm working on replacing it..HOWEVER the issue now is the transmission will NOT ENGAGE period , in any gear when I start the engine. Everything is spinning but it will not engage at all..before it was shifting still even with 2 out of the 3 bolts gone..now nothing! Please help! What could this be?

Did my TC and Flexplate separate?
Has anyone else has this issue?

Any input is greatly appreciated thank you guys for having this website!! :)

Sounds like the converter may have broke the ears off.... meaning you would need to pull that trans and converter to see if it still has the ears on it. Also being a big ten owner myself id love to see pics of yours!!
