Thanks Brother.
Ya know driving the car around, many, many people share a story about their memories about IROCs and I'm starting to really dig it.
I told you the story about the Olive Garden waiter with the yellow B4C car which Is I was completely enfatuated with...my new call phone guy told me a story about some girl he used to go with that had a BLUE ONE . He said "I should have married her." LoL!
I agreed...yeah probably.
They had a great look and being a nascar fan where my favorite driver actually drove one in iroc races is another huge reason i love them. Il be stayin tuned to this one.

[QUOTE="bucket, post: 442841] Hey, lookit that gray paint! Your trans is a remanufactured unit. Also, you have an aluminum driveshaft and it used clip style u-joints from the get go. Btw, many people think the alum shaft is a 1LE part only, but it was used on many '88 and newer TPI cars. /QUOTE]

Yeah, it's white? too..like the oil pan..I started looking for a set of 3.45 gears today also. They're out there!

I jacked that quote up but whatever. Rebuilt engine, trans, and rear end...all the weatherstripping has been replaced so it's hard to tell but I figure it's got at least 160k on it. Car is pretty tight so I don't reckon it's 260.

Oklahoma City, OK.

I heard the belt tensioner needed changed three times before I heard it myself... With the clicking! Bad juju...
$75.00 ***
Reckon that's the original part that was still in the car and well into the end of it's range, yep.
Part #10055798.
Can't buy nothing worth a damn anymore!

I believe this this Gates brand will probably run a good while. The Delco part was $113?

I THINK that I bought that T55 for working in the Camaro yard to pull seatbelts!
Yeah, a Torx 55. Whew! GM seatbelts and L98 belt tensioners...

I have replaced EVERY SINGLE relay underhood except ONE. Which is labeled (paint markered) F/P which I always figured was the Fuel Pump relay but it is not. Some monkey has mislabeled it. Car runs/starts with that relay unplugged?
F.M.L.
Tell me why everything I have ever seen tells me that IS the Fuel pump relay but it's actually next to the battery, not the brake booster. Easy to figure out! :suicide:

I guess the one on top of the brake booster is......? The MAF burn-off relay that is a non-stocking item and costs twice as much as all the other relays....

Well, it's on order. The death of my check engine light is near.

I'm not throwing parts at it, all of this stuff is getting put on notice. It is from this point forward, expected to do as it is intended and perform as GM made it to be. Wildly symbolic - for me AND Helen. Relays wear out like anything else, call it preventative maintenance if you like... they are no longer considered here.
:Sumo:

xc_hide_links_from_guests_guests_error_hide_media

Fuel pump relay
Fan relay
Blower motor relay
I also changed the blower resistor (pictured)
MAF power relay
Blinker relay?
Five.

I pulled them off /crossed the number to get a fresh one that isn't thirty years old...idgaf WHAT it does , needs replaced says me, I'm tired of looking at them.

I stayed busy when I didn't post the other day, don't you worry! I went to mek-a-nik's shop to visit the C20 and saw I her jacked up from all four wheels, chillin. Verified fuel pressure there, Helen has 44 psi at idle and 40 in gear. He needed Babe's gas cap key. :superhack:

There is an underlying running problem present and I am peeling the layers away like from an onion. Gary told me U need a tune port guy...dude? I AM a tune port guy. LoL. May be a cracked plug.

I need to time it with a light AND check Dr.Suave's $400 tune up he bought..I really want to put DELCO R45TS plugs in it and i'm sure I probably will one day. Unknown tune is NOT cool while chasing a running problem.
Plus I didn't do it!

I've always wanted an IROC....really wanted a 92. I saw a 92 back in the 90's that had a custom black paint job. The shine/clear was so deep it looked like you could stick your hand into it and never touch the fender.

I came across a 91 for $400 today. He's willing to trade for my Glock 19. Obviously needs work, but i've got a 350/700r4 waiting for it if I get it.

Maybe i'm playing the devil's advocate but I think you should get it.
It's pretty obvious (to me) that third gen Camaros are the hot commodity these days.
Ya hardly ever see one anymore .. and at least when I do, i'm breakin my friggin neck to catch a glimpse!
The cars and the parts are still readily available and now is the time!

If you've got the money to spend lololol...mine is taking a lot to be how I want it...but it's an investment.

Obviously it needs your help, that's a great entry price for a late example.

Have you no heart!?

IROC-Z cars were built 85-90.
Z-28 returned for 91-92
Steering wheels got airbags for 1990.
Front Accessory drive went from two belts to one for '88.

Hadn't put much thought to it but your right. How often do you see this gen camaro, or even a 70's camaro on the road. Not often around the parts anyway.

Thx M8

Kind of like 87-91 fox body Mustangs...them sombitches are GONE. Already MIA... Broke in half and trashed. Snapped behind the door jamb lol..
I'm not a FORD guy but damn, there has got to be a BLOODTHIRSTY market for an old 5.0 GTLX .
Hook me up the white one with gray interior and the thin red stripe...**** that was hot.
Slap on 3.73s and underdrive pulleys to eat IROCS.

Everybody knows it... Them were the good old days!

They used to make cool cars out of metal.

I have no idea what production numbers were but they sure as hell weren't as strong as a Camaro...kinda sad.

So is the car running ok, but sluggish? If so, what happens when you pinch the fuel return hose closed and drive it?
