Finished up with installing the heater box and AC delete cover. A lot more room under the hood! Looks pretty good IMO but will look at alternate locations for the vacuum canister and clean up the wiring a bit. Also made up some hard lines for the transmission cooler to get rid of the rubber hoses.

Now I need to troubleshoot why the blower motor doesn’t run. Figure its something in the relay or resistor but don’t know yet. The blower runs fine if you put power directly to it.

i'm a big believer in performing this delete as well. The ACs never work, and when they do it feels like it robs all of the power. And then you're stuck with that giant hunk of crap in the corner of your engine bay. You did well, you should be proud. 10/10

Yep. Now when you open the hood you say “Wow, nice engine”. Before it was “Oh, air conditioning” :D

I wonder if it really makes sense to keep all the hardware or just scrap it. Would anyone really want to try to reinstall it and hope it worked versus just getting a Vintage Air system?

Was it paint or colored plastics?
That's not what I meant to ask. This is what happens when I'm talking to my wife and asking questions on here...lol.

What I meant to ask is... How did you get it to be different colors? I don't know much about 3D printing, I thought it was all black?

Keep it. I would 100% prefer the factory stuff and there's others like me out there.

Absolutely. Why a retrofit system would be preferred over the one GM integrated into the design is beyond me. The biggest problems the factory systems have are...

A: They're 40 years old. It's to be expected that some components are tired. But the parts are still available, so whether original or Vintage Air you'll be replacing parts.

2: GM's compressors weren't always the best. But you could retrofit a later GM design or a Sanden instead of retrofitting an entire system.

Ok... I got the transmission and transfer case pulled today out of the 73 Jimmy. I have never seen the transfer case bracket before...I think it kind cool, just have no clue on where to find the bushings for it...
Mine is like that, give me a few and I'll tell you were I found the bushings.

I got looking around, went on the Energy Suspension site, found them got the part number, then went to ePay and got them for 20 bucks plus 5 shipping. So 30ish bucks and got them red to match the other bushings on the truck. I appreciate you taking the time and posting it.

who woulda thunk that putting the sun visors back in the truck could be such a PITA!!! I guess I could have asked the War Dept. to come lend me a hand......Nope that would have been a bad move!!LOL. this little project is winding down, waiting on a different switch for the mirror heat, new grommets for the door wires into the cab and then re install the door panels after checking the mirror heaters out. Got the drag link adjusted so my wheel is straight and then it will be done---- for now!!
