That nickname actually works pretty well cuz I refer to anything pre-90s that had fuel injection as an option or late in the life cycle of the vehicle as a Fuelie. It confuses alot of people when I refer to '87 trucks as Fuelie's lol
Hey!!

Here are my old school tools. Timing lights are used maybe a couple times a year. Remote starters more often lol. The Volt/Dwell/Tach is rarely used and then only to monitor RPM.

I've got the same timing light, just the older one with a black housing and no Craftsman name. Interestingly, my Actron dwell meter appears to use all the same parts as your Sears model, but I got the left-handed version, lol.

I've also got this little battery charger that I use often. Made in Cincinnati. I've only had it a few years, but it was NOS, still in the box and had never been opened. A buddy gave it to me.

Before and after pics, actually looks brown after using black dye. I’m gonna let it dry out to see what if it changes color more. Next, I think I will add some faded blue jeans.

We better keep them and take care of them as they may go the way of the typewriter.
I remember when i was younger my dad handed me a wooden brief case lookin thing and said i know what your dream car is and if you ever get it youll need this... turns out it was a timing set, old school light and dwell gauge and all! Its still in my old room at my parents house!

Been awhile busy working on non square body stuff but recently added a half ton crane with winch and tracked down matching tool box for the passenger side couple days ago hopped in the truck to go pick up a few 6.2 ls3 blocks and noticed alternator wasn't charging no power to pin 2.on the connector used my power probe to give it 12v and started to charge so picked up some fusable links(pretty sure that's the problem

The suburban turn signal switch started acting up. For a couple years in the winter the grease gets real stiff when cold so the switch doesn't fully return to rest and the one brake light wouldn't work until the column got warmed up or you wiggled the stalk back to center.

Now the summer, the opposite side would not signal or brake light with the signal on. Had the switch and wiper switch sitting on the shelf for months. Kind of procrastinated and getting my moneys worth lol. And not taking my daily down.

Literally the night before I had took the 79 column all the way down to the bare bones to get at the infamous loose column bolts. Cleaned and lubed column and loctite on bolts.

So since I had the switches on hand and the confidence from doing the other column the night before, I dove in and tackled both the turn signal switch and wiper switch. Even got a little more torque on two of the column bolts, didn't turn much and never wiggled much, so I left it at that.

Found my wiper issue I've had all these years, wipers worked perfect all around EXCEPT they wouldn't stay parked when switched to off, they would basically go to "low speed".

I've never been in the burbans column, last guy pinched a wire and shorted a contact in the wiper switch. Cleaned and lubed what I could in the column, reassembled. Now the wipers operate 100% and the taillights also operate 100%. The little stuff feels great!

I didn't even have to depin and use the old connectors for it to fit, unlike the 76!

Did what gm should have done and put the fusable link for the alternator to the battery used a few spade connectors and put some extra heat shrink to seal everything now it will be easy to swap if it ever has a issue again

Finally have the new tailpipes installed today! Bought them pre-bent, one from Amazon and the other from Cardid. Painted the OE heat shield Ardent Silver assuming that is how they came from the factory. Very happy indeed.

Did the brake lines from the combination valve throughout the frame, modified fuel lines to install a canister fuel filter, made lines for the passenger side tank. Unfortunately we ran out of stainless line to make the driver side line so we'll hunt for that tomorrow.

I’ve never seen an OE heat shield on these trucks tailpipes. Looks cool!

The new front wheels came in yesterday so set one up to check tire to header clearance before ordering tires in so it's a go on the 28 inch M/T Sportsmans. Need to order the longer studs for the Wilwood hubs as well.
