I saw something like this on a YouTube video. Looked at the link to buy one. 45 plus 15 shipping seemed a bit steep to me. My wife said you can make that. So I got to use my new finger brake, hydraulic hole punch, and a Dimple die. Reciprocating saw paint shaker... Will probably sand blast it, and powder coat it.

About 3 screws? Did you do a write up on it. I just combined to two threads.

Yep I put up a pic and said what I had done the day I did it. I can't find it though. I think I just drilled 2 holes in a junk Sawzall blade and screwed it to a wire brush.

Take a trash can lid turn it upside down, most have a hole with a plug dead center, this one does not. Place it on top of your drain pan, especially if doing a transmission filter, the lid acts like a funnel to minimize mess. Drill some 3/8ths holes in the center oil can flow through but your drain plug can't fall through.

Maybe not a tool exactly, but shop oriented is this simple engine dolly. 1- 2x10x8' and some casters from a harbor freight furniture dolly.

Casters can be omitted if it doesn't need to move.

The engine rests with the boards under the pan rail. This one is for a small block Chrysler, but one could be made for a Chevy with the appropriate spacing.

Since it rests on the oil pan one can leave the motor mounts in place unlike the steel ones that use the motor mounts and bell housing bolts.

It will certainly be a tool/fixture when I get it concreted in the hole in the ground.
This beam is the upright column for a jib crane going in my new building.
I'm fabbing the rail and hinges where I work part time.
