My first vehicle was an 78 Chevy Luv. Then later on dad gave me a 64 Ford F-100 with a 292 V-8 3 speed on the tree. Never liked that truck.

Still have it; I have raced this car for 37 years. Best ET is 9.85 at 136 mph (naturally aspirated). Took me to two NMCA World Championships (runner up both times); 15 top ten finishes in 15 years.

So at 13:1 it's obviously an all motor no adders. Pretty impressive to get in the low 10's / High 9's with a car that heavy. Nicely done and keeping the stock as possible look. I'd sure worry about that stock shifter though if it were me. I can see keeping the straight shift pattern instead of reverse pattern, but I think I'd at least have to have a ratchet shifter for just in case.
That car is worthy of it's own thread in the "Other Vehicles" category if you so choose. Though I don't know how many Street racers we have here. Prolly not to many. But I sure like the sleeper look it has. Not much about it says FAST car. I'd drive that one on the street but... but.... but.... obviously not running on pump gas and could get very pricey to drive on the street for very long.I'd sure worry about that stock shifter though if it were me. The bastard years of the ElCamino/Chevelle/Malibu. Seems not many like that body style. Personally I like the Olds Cutlass in those years better myself too. Glad to see someone have a nice one to keep around for the Nostalgic American Vehicle history purposes.
