I see you have converted a truck to a/c . We are about to start the same process in a 1980 Chevy K20. We found the parts we need to make it happen and cutting the cab isn’t a big deal, it’s the electrical that will get me. Do we need to change the entire harness/fuse box in the truck to make it work , the system is out of a 1980 as well, are they able to recharge it these days ? Any insight would be helpful thanks !!
Hey I have a crazy problem, with the truck not running but key in the run position the fuel gauge reads correctly. With the engine running the fuel Gauge moves way past the full mark to almost point straight down. I'm sure there is a grounding issue some where, But I'm not sure where to start looking. Truck is a 1973 chevy C10 step side. truck has lights for temp, oil not gauges
hey man, i see you're very knowledgeable on A/C stuff. wondering if you can help me out: I'm dealing with this issue now, but it only happens once I get to about 2000-2500 rpms, and no matter what I charge it up to (I've tried 35, 40, 45, 55 psi), it continues to to cycle on and off every 5 seconds or so. When I have the guage on it, I can watch it drop as the RPMs increase and as soon as it drops below 25 psi (into the white on the gauge) the cycling starts. BTW - when I got the truck the compressor was dead, so I've put on a new compressor, dryer, evaporator, orifice tube, flushed and vacuumed the system, and charged with 134. Someone mentioned to me that maybe the pressure switch should be changed to one with a lower cut off, since 134 runs at a lower pressure that r12? Any advice?
Hello again. I seen the dash bezel,gauge cluster and wiring harness. How much all together? My 87s got no air and the same gauges, and redneck wiring. Drives nuts, I replace sections when I have absolutely nothing else to do lol. PO didn't believe in wire ends or heat shrink.
