I will snap a pic when I get home. I had some general questions about the glass they said they needed a few days to get for my appointment. I knew this would get interesting... speaking to the Safelite rep(not a technician) she told me it would be a full 4 panel slider window. So it will be an entire back glass replacement. I then asked if it will be tinted or clear and she says: "I don't think we can get tinted glass for this vehicle" I says "ok". Then she goes:"if we can even get the replacement for your vehicle" I left it at that knowing I have an appointment on the books. I am expecting a call-back from Safelite in the time between now and the appointment date.

That looks exactly like the C.R.Lawrence back glass I got out of a junkyard for my truck. All aftermarket sliders use the factory non-slider gasket. As far as I know, there are no companies making a clear rear slider replacement for our trucks. Looks like Brothers bought them out at some point and Holley still sells them for ~$285

I agree about the focal point looking near the latch. Is your latch super difficult to latch? I would imagine Safelite is going to do a full replacement rear slider, it's pretty hard to find pieces for these. Shoot a pic of your gasket/glass near the corner. I'm curious if yours uses the OE seal or not. It kinda looks like it does

To answer your 2nd question: No the latch was not hard to close or open. Up close pics of glass/gaskets/latch. The sun is shining in through all the shards and it it super bright where I am taking the pics, sorry about the light. Broken side glass/gasket:

I also wanted to open the latch but am avoiding making the glass fall out. It's gonna be 6 days before the said replacement is installed. What do you think I should I do to protect the window/cab? Tape? Tarp cover?

Personally what I'd do and have done cut a backing out of cardboard,then cut another backing out of cardboard for ridgity,have an accomplice hold the backing against the inside. Use clear box tape in strips each strip overlapping the previous strip by 1/2 overlap bottom to top like shingles.Water will run off like shingles on a roof and you can actually do it neatly and not look as ghetto as a something taped over the window.. tape the inside second to keep pieces of glass from falling in. It is a delicate process.

If it were me, I'd just use clear packing tape and go over the whole thing carefully inside and out. Don't open or try move either side, just tape over and wait for it to be replaced

The bit#h is it's tempered,so unless you find a replacement piece from the manufacturer a glass company cannot cut you a piece. Push comes to shove I'd cut a piece of lexan.

It's not that difficult to get tempered. You are correct that you cannot cut tempered glass but you can have glass cut and polished and then tempered. I used to order tempered glass pieces regularly when I owned my hardware store.

Thanks,maybe its more affordable elsewhere. I needed a piece of tempered glass about 8x18 inches. Went to the local glass shop ( small town ) they said you can't cut tempered glass that have to cut it send it to be tempered and cost me like 175.00 that was maybe 15 years ago,who knows what theyd charge now.

I restored these wonderful antique Dayton scales and would order tempered glass ovals and rounds for them from this company. A big, thick one as shown was around $75 I believe but it was thick and had rounded edges so a plain flat rectangle would be cheaper. Plus you can size it all out and get a quote on their website.

I used Flex tape. I got one roll thinking 4 inches wide by 5 feet is plenty for one slide glass pain. Nope. Carefully covered it outside while my daughter held card board up on the inside, then I ran out halfway across the inside. Packing tape for the rest.

Wow. That's some ********. Although my reference is big city. LA County with the supplier in Long Beach. Probably would have cost me $40 in 1/4 for that size.
