Took it in for the dreaded biennial California smog test. Prep is just filling it with premium gas and installing the catalytic converter I keep on the shelf. I've mentioned before that the aftermarket cats don't last very long, so I have one with flanges welded to it that bolts on in a few minutes. After the test, it comes off and the old "daily" cat goes back on.

HC & CO readings are always low. On the low-speed test, HC readings were 13% of what's allowed, and CO was just .007%. The high-speed test is about the same, with HC dropping to 12%. What got me this time was the fuel-evap leak down test. The system is pressurized through the gas cap and it's supposed to hold pressure for a set period of time. It failed by .01%. The Tech is a good guy who knows me, so he ran the test again and it passed by a gnat's ass. Only way I know of finding the issue is with a smoke machine, so that's something I'll have to deal with before I go back in two years.

Boring clip of going nowhere.
