The new one. The way it's kinda rounded on the sides and tries to encapsulate the bushing. I've only ever seen flat ones that are basically flat straps bent to fit
I think it depends on the bushings used on the sway bar. I ordered some from Steele-Rubber, and they looked nothing like the OEM ones. So I ordered a set from MOOG, and they were exactly like OEM. The bushings from Steel-Rubber would work with the non-flat-strap brackets.

Pretty common on the 4x4's

Interesting. I've done very little squarebody 4x4 work

I remembered I had a picture of some that I sent off a while back.

Got the 84 back today. Runs good and looks much better too. I'm happy with it even though I had to put an edelbrock on it. Lol
Transmission shifts good too. Gotta adjust the TV cable some. Way more oil pressure too. The 305 was down to 5 psi or so at idle now the 350 is at 38 at idle. Fresh oil change new belts, starter and flywheel. The other one was bent and the starter off the 305 didn't fit.

I think a lot of people look past those valve covers, but I’ve always liked them. Glad she’s back!

Painted the front clip on the 84 with black cayon satin. Much better now.

Replaced turn signal lights with led orange lights. Painted headlight bezels too. Stripping the paint off the grill. Second coat soaking now. Hit it with the pressure washer. Works pretty good. Would be a ton of sanding otherwise.

Also switched air filters on the 82 to the old one off the 84.

Finally put the bed back on today! I had used 4 block and tackle pulley sets (from deer/game hoists) and a little redneck creativity to lift the bed up to the garage ceiling quite awhile ago.

Now that the new tanks/senders/selector valve/lines seem to be functioning properly, I’m hoping to get her onto the road soon. It’s nice to finally have her looking like herself again!

More dash work - had to check out the ac switch since BOTH blowers would randomly quit working. I think it is the pin in the ignition switch or the plug is loose. Since I was there, and the brake light bulb had quit working due to a bad trace, more engineering. The fuel gauge trace was messed up, too. Twisting the bulb holder out destroyed the rest of the trace for both the seat belt light and the brake light. Working now, but still got to resolve the original problem.

To solve the original blower problem the column has to come down. And, hopefully the super glue holds on this vent. Some of the mounting ears broke.

PITA.

I hate getting into it due to the aftermarket stereo and the engineered solution for the shift indicator.

Who would have thought a loose wire or plug on the column would have been the cause of a blower issue.

Installed the carpet door trim that I've had from the original carpet. I like the original color better than the red. I would use the factory one, but I only have the one. The other side got wet and fell apart. The red ones are from LMC and are 8 years old. They are holding up well.

Replaced the collector gaskets on the headers. Chasing an exhaust leak. I think it's a weld on one of the tubes. I have replaced all the gaskets. Check out the price for the new gaskets. Great deal.

I really like the Cometic style header and collector gaskets.
