Is that box tube from a carport or something? That stuff with formed ends is usually pretty thin and won't provide any crash protection. Probably won't support the weight of the truck either, for it to be a slider.
This guy actually used.120 wall 1/8" for those that don't know wth that is lol pretty common and a lot of people say they prefer it not to thick so they give in instead of damage to the frame plenty of examples of .120 wall being used but I agree seems thin for my big ol 1ton

Installed 95% of the exhaust, beefed up the helper spring stops and slapped the bed, bumper and tailgate on. After all of the work we've put into this thing this spring/summer/fall, it's turning out just how we'd hope. If not better.

I recently completed an 11 day 3400 mile trip in my K5. (79)
Took my dogs with me. Truck and the road beat the hell out of us.
Ordered new shocks today. Got in my seat foam and upholstery already. Going to give it a shot.
I need new body mounts too.
If that's not enough I'll probably get new springs too.
I know it's a truck, but it's got to get a little better than it is. My back is trashed, can't go through that again.

The pups did this, I didn't pose them. They were beat!

Tires make a big difference too.

I put the RideTech streetgrip system on KY 87 R10, but found out the hard way I needed to have all the OEM suspension parts on the truck. Also, if you do get this kit, don't get the upper and lower tubular control arms, or strong arms as Ridetech calls them. They made my truck impossible to to drive because of the wheels hitting the wheelwells. I know it's a great system just wish they would have let me know about all the issues beforehand. Now they conveniently put those warnings on the install instructions. Maybe when I get my OE control arms back on the truck will ride like it should on that kit. I'll send pics and updates once I get it all figured out on my own since Ridetech hasn't been any help after they got my money.

Keep em on the road.

In dash wiring today. Wired up the light for the tachometer, removed the original working Delco AM radio (Does anyone want this?). Fixed a few more things wiring wise. $20 plus shipping?
