Took the heater apart so I can match up a new core to replace the one that was leaking.
Painted the gauge needles so they are all the same color now and not faded.
Painted the dash bezel black (it was a wrecking yard special, all faded) then highlighted the bezels with silver paint. Chrome would be nicer, but the paint was free, I had it on hand.
It's so dusty here in Arizona, they should look good for a little while ........

Testors model paint works well for that

Today I pulled all the A/C hoses and flushed the system getting it ready to upgrade from R12 to R134A. During the process I decided to replace all the A/C hoses so I will order new ones on Monday. I already have all the green o'rings, new accumulator, adapter tube and R12-R134a adapters. Hopefully I will have all the needed parts by Weds so I can put it all back together and have AIR CONDITIONING for this 100 degree plus Texas summer :)

Getting rear suspension torn apart....I've been busy grinding rivets to remove leaf spring brackets too. Brackets, springs and 14 FF getting media blasted then powder coated prior to rear disc brake conversion and new bearings, seals & etc,.

I put a cs130 alt on today got the conversion plug from orilys $20 then switched pullys to the vbelt bolted right on. The rear stud is lower on the cs130 kinda snug to the head but clears. Pushing 120amps now not 70 lights are brighter feels like it runs better. Less drop from the fans turning on. Working great so far.....

Stick with R12 ... the cost to dig up that many cans is worth it.... that 134 A you blow 58 degree air... R12 will blow 38, if i could swap back i would.

Did you have to change the pulley on it? I'm thinking I want to do this mod. Tired of my dim lights and slow windows & slow wipers.

Ya pulled the serp pully off and put the vbelt one on it with no problems. The only thing that didnt line up was the tube the bottom bolt goes through has a bracket that bolts to the back of the alt. But other then that was fast and easy

Did you just tweak the tube a little, left it off, changed out bolt?, What year/make/model came with a cs130? Gonna go get one tomorrow, want to know what to ask for.

I left it on just dont have it bolted to the back. Mines off a 92 burb 2500 454 with serp ..you can get a 100 105 120 amp maybe 140. My trucks a 454 wuth v belts 12 si 70 amp I might look at rotating the housing to get bracket lined up if it can . Not sure on 350 the bolt holes need to be 12-6 oclock on alt
