Rebuilt the rag joint on my 84' tonight (Dorman PN 31000 will do the trick), tightened up a lot of slop in the steering. Saving the Jeep steering shaft for my 87'.

I didn't take any, but it's pretty straight forward as long as you take pics before you disassemble the joint so you can remember how it goes back together. You do need a grinder to remove the original stops that are pressed into the splined piece of the joint. Have to grind the heads off and drive them out with a punch. These get replaced with threaded stops.

Here is the thread that I followed to do mine:

When we tried with retro to exchange the jeep shaft on the c30 we could not make it fit. I think doing this may get the steering under control. And will make it more enjoyable.

Thanks

I got a bunch of things powder coated and ready to be reassembled...trans cross member complete with new hardware and tranny mount bushing for my 700R4. Also got my blower motor housing powder coated and have a new blower motor and resistor. I replaced the brand new driver side LCA I bought with an original off of a '71, its ready for the new ball joint to be pressed in.

Kinda surprised myself. It only took about 4 hours. Just have the fuel line and throttle linkage left to do.

Happy I got the gaskets lined up nicely.

Mocked up the new wheels. Test fitted the front clip with original fenders and moved the aftermarket fenders that were on it to the burb. Also replaced the hood on the burb with the original one from the 74. Plan was to use the original front fenders from the burb on the 74 but the driver side has a rust issue along the inner wheel well and the passenger side did not fit to my liking so I had to use my backup fenders. I got the cowl induction hood back on the 74 but it was too late in the day to get a decent picture.

Took the heater apart so I can match up a new core to replace the one that was leaking.
Painted the gauge needles so they are all the same color now and not faded.
Painted the dash bezel black (it was a wrecking yard special, all faded) then highlighted the bezels with silver paint. Chrome would be nicer, but the paint was free, I had it on hand.
It's so dusty here in Arizona, they should look good for a little while ........

Should a listened to hot rod burnt up my msd plug wire on the header. Luckily I had an extra one made it fit took off ac compressor for now till I put serpentine on so not in the way like it was before..also cleaned up the wire's on the fans some what.

You're not alone. Common problem. Gotta handle those correctly or your money is wasted on wires.

I really like that EPS Intake. I had to let mine go since it was installed on the K1500 when I sold it. :sad72:

It works good ?

I assume it works better then the 2101 just because of the speed bumps in the runners. It looks to be slightly taller then the 2101. Edelbrock says the 2701 has very long runners but does not say that about the 2101.

It will be forever before I get my qaudjet fixed right. And im sick and tired of my old qaudjet leaking fuel down my cylinders. So I figured I would give that 1806 a whirl. Its brand new so I should get some good performance out of it. When I get my qaudjet finished ill just run it on the 2701 with that adapter.

Replaced the turn signal switch Friday. Then drove over to Woodward and cruised a little for the pre-Dream cruise. Went back over Saturday afternoon, mostly watched the cruise but took the truck out and "cruised" (sat in traffic). Lots of cool cars out.

For those of you who have never heard of it, it is the worlds largest one day car event, 16 miles of cars and activities along Woodward Avenue in suburban Detroit. They estimate 1.5 million people and 40,000 classic/muscle/special interest cars.
