Took her out to a public board launch under I10 at the Old and Lost Rivers turnaround .

Drove down a flooded gravel road and put her in 4wd to exercise her.

Saw some mud to play in and would have loved to really try the tires and exercise the 4wd for real, but no one with me , so Bwack Bwak- I refrained. :(

Back at home, with a little mud on the side.

May go back and get some pics - just don't always think of that ...

How you get it to stay on - glue ?

Seems like when those things came off once, they never really stayed in place after that.

Electrical tape has been used previously , but just a short term fix ...

Just switched out the dimmer switch, PIA with the column in the truck but I got it, propped it down an inch or 2 and was able to squeeze my hands in. Now I’m getting ready to pull the batteries and install a relay headlight harness.

Ended up polishing all the front end stainless steel trim and installing the grill. looks better than my avatar.
Got it all together and realized I forgot to plug in the directional light sockets. D'oh!

Went back old school for the time being! 16.5" tires are getting harder and harder to come by. Going to be swapping better A/T's onto the old slots so now that they're off the truck I can demount the tires and get them cleaned and polished back up before they go back on.. But the OG look is really starting to grow on me!

That was a suggested option but I don't have a problem running a converter, even if it's one that's not as efficient as it could be. I'm all for helping the environment, just not to the point where I'm willing to buy a new $300 cat every few years. Besides that, with my luck the minute I install a straight pipe Cali would start doing random roadside inspections like they already do with big rigs.

You are correct. I'm hearing horror stories from credible sources about CA and NJ roadside inspections resulting in thousands in fines and corrections.

Granted, that has more to do with newer diesels with cat and DPF technology, but I would put nothing past these people.

Damn! And DAMN! That truck looks good.

Get a set of steel 16s and nobody will know the difference. These trucks looked good coming out of the factory. I understand customizing, but we are getting to the point where stock looks so different that it becomes a custom look to itself.

Own it!

Got the headlight harness installed, had to switch some wires around because the low beam and ground wires were in the wrong spot for the harness . Had a power wire that wasn’t properly crimped fall out of the fuse holder, fixed that and it works great. I’m hoping all my headlight issues will stay at bay, I will soon be installing some sort of aftermarket lights. I haven’t decided on the style I want yet or at least my bank account isn’t ok with the style I like [emoji51]

Even halogens are bright enough when they get full power.
