Might need to bend the float arm on the sending to make sure it touches the bottom of the tank when it reads empty and full when touching the top.

My two that I've replaced the pickups in are the same. When the needle shows dead empty, no movement at all I still have about two gallons. I'm used to it.

Put my temperature gauge where the old clock was.

Just need to straighten up a little before putting rest of cluster back together again. Maybe a small tach to the right of temperature gauge before putting back together.

Took a trip from my house to Bowling Green, MO today to pick up some steel from a welding supply/surplus, 120 mile round trip (60 each way). Filled both tanks up before I left town and recorded the mileage. Kept a steady 65mph the whole way there and back, fuel gauge went from over full to full. Topped it off at the same gas station I went to when I left, took 4.443 gallons. Both times it spewed out the filler neck so I know its full. 120/4.443=27 miles per gallon. The Quadrajet and 3.07 gears proved themselves today. That is the same MPG that my father gets in his 2014 Honda CR-V with half the cylinders, 10x(atleast) the technology, and 1000lbs lighter. I call that a win.

Then the drivers window fell off the track after I topped off, looks like I'll be putting new felts in the window when I pull the piece out to reweld it (which it needs). The one from my 79 for reference of what it should be on the left.

Yes sir, factory cab lights. My 76 I believe had done some time towing as it had a 7-way trailer plug and brake controller, the mounting plates for a 5th wheel or gooseneck (see second picture), Dana aftermarket cruise control, beefy receiver hitch. Normally I get around 10mpg commuting to school and work, but that is all city driving with lots of start and stop, I am very happy that it got that good of mileage on that trip.

How did that go?
Well instead of whining about not having the socket for the nut on the back side I attacked it like any cave man would hammer and a flat chisel. Worked great
