I started it up and blew the carbons out after about 3 weeks of not driving it, as i spend my life in the work truck. Boy was there a big puddle of condensation under each pipe..

You are so very right.
Our tank is a 40 gallon bugger and we drained about half out of it before we pulled it from its mounts....

When i did the pump in my 94 burban, i took off the straps and dropped the jack and the tank stayed hanging.... the anti squeek rubbers on top had fused the tank to the body lol i had to pry it loose.

Been off here for awhile till recently, been working on my four link airbag setup for my 79 one ton. Had to build up around the tube a bit because the ubolts have been wearing into the parent material.

That rear frame notch is really cool. I don't remember seeing that in your build thread.

Merry Christmas Everyone,

I haven't posted much on this forum yet, but I'm on here daily, trolling all the posts...

I wanted to post up some of my recent upgrades/modifications to "Ole Blue".

I finally removed the outdated worn out fiberglass tonneau cover and drop in plastic bed liner. I replaced both with a Rhino Liner spray in coating and a nice modern rolling vinyl tonneau cover.

Also, about a month ago, I replaced the rusted out exhaust system for an awesome sounding true dual exhaust system with Flowmaster FX mufflers. Love the way they sound...Nice rumble at start-up and acceleration, but no drone on the highway.

Very soon, I'll start on my suspension upgrades which will consist of replacing all the cracked bushings, upgrade the shocks and lower her about 2 to 2 1/2 inches up front and 3 to 4 inches out back. I'll probably use dropped springs up front and new lowered leaf springs out back.

Take Care everyone,
Jason

Finally got my rear snow tires on. I did the fronts a few weeks back with the first snow fall... now it's dumping so had to get the fronts changed. I do my own tire changes with a couple of bars and swear words. I find balancing tires to be way overrated... and it's expensive around here.
A little trick most guys don't know... new tires have a little red or blue paint dot on the lightest part of the tire. Align that dot with the valve stem on the rim.
They will be real close.
ALso depends on the rim, as most tires are pretty close but some rims are way out of balance and that's where the trouble begins.

Spent all afternoon screwing around with the wipers on my '78. The wipers come down a little too low and don't wipe high enough. The washer pump also didn't seem to work, but I 'thought' that was a bad switch.

First I installed a used reman wiper motor that came from my old parted K5. Well, the wipers still didn't sit right and the washer pump ran whenever the wipers ran. Even with the pump trigger unplugged. So I put the original wiper motor back in... well, it decided not to automatically park anymore.

So I put the reman motor back in and then spent the next couple hours trying to make the washer pump sprocket/cam/lever arrangement work. No dice. That finicky setup just refuses to work right and I remembered why I never try to fix them anymore.

So I installed an old Trico universal pump instead, it's triggered by the factory dash switch. Wiper adjustment will be another day I guess.
