Wanted Cruise Control Rod/Link

Looking for the rod/link that goes from the cruise control vacuum servo to quadrajet, for mid 80s 350 sbc, appears to need to be around 8 to 8.5 inches in total length. Not sure if they made that link that long, but the approx 7 inch long link that I got at some point (not original) is too short.

I do believe that head screws farther off to extend it. I have a couple of them but im not sure where they got to...

Are you wanting it for function,or to look original. I ask because if it were mine I'd have already just cut that one in 1/2 laid my 2 pieces next to a long enough piece of screen door tension rod and brazed it,or made a new one with ball chain from the hardware store.

Just looking for it to function. I'll probably end up making something that will work but wanted to see if I could get something ready to go.

It only has to pull,you could put that link on the carburetor and use a piece of wire as an extension link to the servo.

wondering if you could explain a little further?
I’ve never actually seen mine working but I’ve been going over all the parts that I currently have. I took the transducer apart and cleaned it up and the solenoid works. All the other electrical seems fine and the servo seems fine. So, I was gonna try to hook everything up and see how it worked but apparently I don’t have the rod and link. Was just gonna cobble something together and then I came across this post.

Does it need to have the grooved link like the kickdown cable or not?

Grooved link just allows it to slide during normal throttle operation so nothing binds. When cruise is on it just pulls as another poster said.

Lockdown cable (in my case the 700r4 tv cable) is not involved in this link. It connects to the main throttle arm.

I did this exact thing on my 85. Used some metal wire from the servo plate to the hook. Worked fine.

could you just use a static bolt to the carburetor throttle arm or does it need to slide when the cruise is not in operation?
