Switching from mechanical to electrical gauges

First time posting here. I have a 77 k20 that I am working on. The gauge cluster was damaged and the temp gauge had been replaced with an after market mechanical gauge. I bought a replacement cluster from, I am guessing a 78 or 79 which has an electrical oil gauge. My 77 had a mechanical oil gauge. I was wondering if I change the oil pressure sender from mechanical to electrical and wire directly to the gauge in the cluster if that would work or will I have issues. Thanks in advance.

You just want to be sure that the range of the sender matches the range of the indicator.

That should be a 0 -60 psi sender. It will be stamped on one of the flats of the mounting nipple:
