Some might can remember that my tranny went out.. (th350)
Was able to get it out today, and snapped some shots when I had the chance, cuz I was a grease-monkey today
Took three of us to get it out, was nice to have the help.

found out I had a cracked flex-plate too...

Rebuilt tranny+flex-plate, and converter and all that stuff... $550 with 1 year warranty.

Will post more pix on the re-install of the re-built... be on the lookout.

Who says you can't do stuff on a budget :) Do-it-yourself is the best way!!

I hate doing transmission work. No matter how long you drain them they always seem to cough up another 2 quarts of fluid on you whenever you least expect it.

Yeah, the pictures didn't show it all, but when we brought the tranny down, it made a mess alright... oh well, par for the course, I suppose

shade tree my freakin left nut lol I'd love to have a solid floor and garage to do it in. I gotta do mine in the yard no shade on dirt, but I have mine belts laid down to work on. Pulling them yourself one person is easy but putting them back in usually is best with 2. I just use my 3 ton floor jack.

I pulled my trans and t-case this past week, and getting ready to reinstall them. Pulled an 85 monte carlo trans early this year and put it back in, pulled dad's 84 last year and put in another and had his out the year before too. I'm sick of trans work lol.

consider yourself lucky it was not gm's enormous cast iron boat anchor called the SM 465 with a big ass aluminum transfer case hanging off the end.

I love how easy it is to pull the 2wd transmissions!

yeah, I really enjoy working on my square, making it better one step at a time. Makes me appreciate it more.

a 465 with an aluminum case is easy... try it with a real transfer case behind it.

I'm facing this myself... Removing my Turbo 350 transmission with the np203 transfer case. Could y'all be of any help and tell me if I HAVE to remove the transfer case with the tranny or any way around taking the tranny out and leaving the transfer case in???
