I was going to run up to my local hardware store and see what they have. I'm sure they have some sort of spacer. My valve covers are not that much taller than stock, they just don't angle down on the ends. I'm going to order my alternator today. I'm just going to get new so I don't have to deal with sending back a core.

Yes longer bolts are going to be a must. about 3 maybe 4 threads engage. I might get longer than what I need and trim it to fit correctly.

excellent, make sure to measure the depth of the threads because just a little fluid in a bracket threaded area or a little extra torque at the botttom you could break it

But measuring depth willl be the wise way to avoid problems

Well after 2 hardware stores, and Napa... I got the bolts and spacers.they will have to be sand blasted and powder coated.

Isn't there a connector that has the 4 pin for the alternator and a 2 pin for our trucks?

are you able to find a flange bolt in that size instead? if you could order one from mcmaster carr or something you could probably order powder coated and with a shoulder thats not threaded

you appear to have a Cs130D alternator, id recommend a AD244 if you dont already. The 4 pin above will work. but id really recommend using 3 of the 4 cavities if you have a stock computer running the engine, if you have an aftermarket computer 4 may be useful, and if not a comptuer, then id recommend the 2 populated for sure, but not from the adapter ( i can help with this if need be)

I ordered the one I asked @bluex about. It's a AD244. I have no computer control on this motor. What ever you can help with will be greatly appreciated. Just remember I'm older and wiring makes my head hurt...

do you have a 4 pin plug for it? You can get one off the shelf at auto storee its a flat oval)


If you wanna make use of 3 pins we can
you can also use 4 pins if youd like to install an hour meter

Got my alternator today, got it installed. Going to pull the pulley off and powder coat it. Need to measure for the belt now.
