I didnt see a date around the bell casting , just the 3970010 on the lower flat of the bell casting,

And "C 1244" on passenger side upper flat around the bell.

The stamped number on the front was like, V00xxxxx

Cant remember

What are your plans for the 2bbl?

The actual carb?

Trash can.

Unless someone has a use for it , then i might be a capitalist dick

(Kidding)

Is it in decent condition? Does it still have the tag on it? I am considering a Dual Jet for my 292.

Killing me man... That C number is in fact the casting date code. I doubt it is 1244... C means March, 12 would be the day of the month and the 44 would mean 1944(which is obviously not possible). The entire stamped number at the front would give you the assembly date and a partial VIN at least. It would be highly beneficial to figuring out this engine if you take some pics(this lines for you @Rusty Nail ) of the casting numbers and the stamped number on the front pad. As to what it was rebuilt to, there really isn't any telling. That company no longer exists, but it appears they were a simple stock rebuild type company.

After giving it a look again today, no alcohol and scratched down numbers on paper

This is a 75 350 block from a 20/30 series truck, presumably since the trans had 1380ish yokes, it was a 1 ton drive train.

In stock form it made a unimpressive 160 hp, but it has been rebuilt at some point in its life and now posseses a 327 intake

I looked again at the thin, barely legible pad on the front and it was v1002txr, txr is suffix for 75 350.with a 4 barrel carb

So now moving on, why does it have a 2 barrel and 327 intake?

I was spot on the money when i first laid eyes on it and saw the exhaust manifolds , i said "those look like early to later 70's manifolds"

Yep. Its a 1975 350.

Now i REALLY wanna pull the pan and see if its got a 327 small journal crank in it, possibly was rebirthed as a 383?

Probably not with a 2 barrel.

this is just another generic 350 that i have no use for.

Soon we will all know. I was hoping it was a 327, that would have been cool.

If it's reasonably clean inside and not trashed, it's got a little more value than scrap weight. And if someone buys it, you don't have to haul it off, lol.
