I came across across a BBC454 4 bolt main today on Facebook for sale about 12 miles from me. Went to look at it after work and listen to it run. It's got the power steering pump, alt camaro LT headers (not on motor) RV cam. An intake that he pulled off his camaro. Said it's a nice one worth a few hundred bucks. I don't know I'll have to look into it. Anyway he fired it up and it sounded nice even with no headers on it. Got a nice lope to it. It'll sound nice with the headers on it. Also has a turbo 350 with shift kit in it. Said he's not sure the stall on it.

Man it was getting dark buy the time I heard it run but, dude you see all the sweet classic cars he has. 67 firebird a 69 chevelle and a lot of others. I'll get some pictures tomorrow afternoon when I go back to buy it. He has a big shop with cars in it too. Really cool guy too. Said he'd come help me pull the wee O 5 and put in the 454 and swap transmissions. Making room in the garage for it tonight. Super excited to get it home!

I put a new Quadrajet stage 2 carb, edelbrock intake, skip white dizzy and hedman mid length headers (not on it) new fuel pump and plugs. Power steering pump and alt. Have a RV cam in the box and assembly oil for it too. What would you want for that? Because obviously I won't have a use for it.

The th350 needs to be rebuilt. So I know I can't get much for it. I mean it works alright but, was going to rebuild it anyway.

The Camaro headers may fit the truck well. You also can reuse your skip white distributor.

I did the same swap on my '84. My 305 smoked some when you got in the throttle good, and reverse only worked when the trans was warm. I left the two bolted together and put the whole shebang on CL for 60 bucks. It was gone right quick.

You might notice a difference...
You will need a bigger rad too.

Yep! The trick was, I left the accessories on it, and the starter too. It was just garden variety stock stuff with a bunch of miles on it.

I reused my small block radiatior too, as it wasn't very old. It works plenty good enough in a truck that never pulls anything.

I guess the sb rad would work with no pulling or high compression, or idling in LA traffic...A few degree of heat I imagine would be available with a standard
vs auto tranny. Just as an engine gets slightly less mpg with an auto...?

I've got a pretty good radiator hopefully I can use it. Here's a couple of pics of it.

I won't be pulling with it and won't be daily driver. Dude is bringing the motor and tranny to me so I just have to wait here for him. Should be in about 20 mins.

I dunno, I've idled in traffic in some fairly hot and humid weather and it keeps cool. I still have the fan running from a manual switch, I have it on most of the time.

Hello! I wanted to remind you to research the rest of the driveline, to see if it's up to the extra torque. CBB's came from the factory with TH400's. Mine is a 1975 c-20. I owned a 68 chevelle and turned it into a drag race car. The engine was an LS-6 454. Beefed engine, tranny, rearend, factory ss396 car, let's go racing right? The very first pass, I puked the driveshaft out of the car, in third gear, opening up the throttle to full. I also cracked the tranny TH-400, from side to side where it flares up to the mounts...the bell housing part. I still ran a 1/4 mi. time of 13:70, coasting through the lights on the side of the track....So make sure the entire driveline is up to the engine swap. Regards!
