Hello! I wanted to remind you to research the rest of the driveline, to see if it's up to the extra torque. CBB's came from the factory with TH400's. Mine is a 1975 c-20. I owned a 68 chevelle and turned it into a drag race car. The engine was an LS-6 454. Beefed engine, tranny, rearend, factory ss396 car, let's go racing right? The very first pass, I puked the driveshaft out of the car, in third gear, opening up the throttle to full. I also cracked the tranny TH-400, from side to side where it flares up to the mounts...the bell housing part. I still ran a 1/4 mi. time of 13:70, coasting through the lights on the side of the track....So make sure the entire driveline is up to the engine swap. Regards!

Yeah, I was thinking just that. I mean it's not going to be a race truck but, might run it down the track a time or two just to see what she runs. That won't be for a while tho. Gotta say high 13s coasting the end is much faster than mine will be. Lol. Love me some chevelle too!

I noticed last night that the fuel pump on the 454 only has 2 lines an input and output. My 305 has a 3 line pump. Input, return and output. So do I need to buy a 3 line pump to replace the 2 line pump on the 454? Or can I just plug the return line on the truck? Will that cause issues? Just something I was thinking about last night.

You can just plug the return hose or remove it entirely.

Allow me to resurrect this thread, I am about to perform the same swap on my truck, except mine has the 700r4.
