Removing rearview mirror bracket

Anybody have any suggestions on how to remove the rearview mirror bracket, without damaging the windshield? Whatever adhesive was used on mine, is some gnarly ****! The bracket is like fused with the glass.

Acetone and a razor blade. Keep dabbing the acetone around the mounting pad. While its wet, scrape and try to insert the blade between the pad and glass.
