ok, so im having an issue with my rear end, and i have no idea what it is, it makes a loud clunking like somthing metal is clunking, almost sounds like a broken u-joint and the drive shaft is hitting somthing. but it only happens when i let off the gas, or press the clutch in while driving. and its pissing gear lube from by the u-joint. any help would be greatly appreciated!

Sounds like a 10 bolt with a toasted pinion bearing. Jack the truck up by the rear axle, with the front wheels blocked. Give the rear of the shaft a good shake and look for movement (like up-down) in the u-joint/yoke/pinion area.

Just grab a hold of the rear of the drive shaft, and give it a shake.

I'd say U-Joint, but with the spewing of gear oil, Im with bucket and going to say the Pinion bearing has gone bad, and has wallered the bushing and seal at that will explain the spewing of gear oil.

Standard basic hand tools, dial indicator and a magnetic or clamp base for the dial indicator.

HF has a cheap one that seems to work well for the occasional user.
