A stock ‘75 should be a TH350 unless it’s a 1 ton truck. Even the 3/4 ton HD used a TH350 in 1975.

Kickdown cable adjuster may be hard to break loose, but adjustment is easy. On the back of the bracket there is a vertical plastic piece with a lip on it. Either grab it with a pliers or hook it with a screwdriver and slide it up ( it only moves about 3/8”). Then pull the the throttle wide open,
and while holding it there, slide the plastic piece back down.

Don’t confuse this with a TV cable. A misadjusted TV cable on a 700R4 can screw up your transmission. A misadjusted kickdown cable on a TH350 means you might not get a downshift when you need it - but it will not hurt the transmission.

I just picked up a Holley 80555 off of Marketplace for $125. Then picked up a Holley trick kit for $130. Basically a brand new carb for $250. It's a spreadbore 650 cfm with electric choke and vacuum secondaries and has the Quadrajet bolt pattern so it will be a direct bolt on to the factory manifold. Might want to look into something used if you want inexpensive.

It also appears 1981 and 1982 were first years for 700rs so it wouldnt be that. Its factory. Its been in my family since new. Bought acrossed the canadian border in 1976 by my grandfather, when he moved to wisconsin from montana he broughti t. Drove it till early 90s, bought a new chevy, made the square his plow truck. It did that till about 2003 or so, when he gave it to my father who removed the bed(it was rotted bad even then) and replaced it with the flatbed and a piston setup to allow it to dump. Its rusty, its seen a lot, but shes trusty.

I hope it becomes mine at some point. Ill take a pic if i remember sometime.
Correct 700r4's started in 82 if I recall.
You will either have a TH350 or Th400 which both use kickdown's.
No TV cable to setup with the new carb.

I'm looking for something inexpensive for my 83 K5. it has a 350 engine and the quad is toast.
This looks to be a good option. What trans are you running? I have a 700r4.

Currently TH350. I'm looking to go manual though. SM465 just to get everything installed then NV4500 a year or 2 down the road.

Yep big issue, your hardliners won't work and most people just use a piece of fuel hose. I just had a fire today from this,a pinhole in a rubber fuel line plumbed to an edelbrock

Edelbrock says use 4 hole adapter with 1406. That's what I have. Engine Masters says one hole is better, even with dual plane manifold. I have two one hole on shelf. Thinking of changing mine to one hole.

I have a Holley (similar to your 1406) and a 1 hole adapter on the way. Didn't even think about a 4 hole one.
I sure it's hard to tell a performance difference on a stock 350.

Is the one hole then just a square opening that the butter flys open to the voided space rather than shaped ports on 4 hole?
It just obviously lets the square carb sit on the mounting for qjet?
