I need two favors please. Can you get a pic of the t-case shifter from two or three different angles? Also, Can you please get some front driveshaft measurements, extended and collapsed? It has the flange mount style on the t-case doesn't it?

Either the cab was swapped or you're looking at it wrong. I suppose though that a bolt-in hump might be shaped a little different than the welded in hump.

It's possible I did look at it wrong. But it still seems a bit lower than my 85's. Nonetheless, I think I am going to cut the hump out of it incase I decide to use my 2wd cab on the K10.
Yeah I can get some pics maybe tomorrow. I didn't do one tow today, but was in court all day, then worked at the part time job tonight and just got home. Yep the dshaft has the flange that bolts to the Tcase and also has the CV joint, so that little Dshaft does run 3 Ujoints. Its similar to my NP208 front dshaft in the K1500 just shorter.
I also noticed this NP205 has the racetrack pattern so it wouldn't be hard to convert to Th400 if I decided too.

If you cut it out, it would be interesting to see the two humps side by side. Maybe the shape did change a little over the years. I've got carpet from an '82 in my '77 and it seems to fit the hump well.

Actually it would be hard to convert that t-case to work with a th400. The 32 spline input has a larger input bearing and a matching larger hole in the t-case. So the case would have to be machined, and a 32 spline input sourced (they can be pricey). The bearing can be bought new (about $100 IIRC) and there's a couple larger c-clips you will also need.

Ahh hell, I forigot your pics today Andy. Discussing C4's trans got me back to this thread. I didn't do **** today but get caught up on sleep I've needed badly. Now on call for the rest of the night and it's dark. Hopefully tomorrow. Its all still in the bed of the K1500.

It's alright, I got plenty of time. My shifter that came with the t-case is torched off a few inches from the bottom. I want to weld a 203 stick to it (so it looks bone stock on the interior), but I don't know what the angle is supposed to be. I've got a shifter for the th400/np205 setup, but I don't know if those shifters are bent the same.

I also want to get pics of this hump in this 80. I looked at it again. I am not looking at wrong. It is not near the height of my 85 K10 and 85 K1500 humps. Granted, its probably higher than 2wd, but it seems much lower than the 85 K series and the 85's are both auto trans trucks too.

I got the 350 motor out of the 80 GMC and brought it home. Also got all the connectons to the 12 Bolt 3.73 rear end loose, and all the connections to the front 10 bolt with OEM Spicer Manual hubs loose, so all that is left to get the axles is burn the U bols with a torch and the axles and wheels are coming home. Hopefully tomorrow, then the rest of the frame and body go over the scale.

Get that one done, then it's time to start parting out the Burb with the Detroit Locker rear end and ARB Air Locker Front Axle. Thinking of also taking the 40 gallon rear Burb fuel tank. Actually thinking of taking the whole Burb less the wheels he wants. I find a good Burb body, 2 or 4wd, I'll transfer it to this 4x4 frame. Scrapping the rust bucket body for sure though.

Finally had a bit of time tonight. Got the axles out of the 80 GMC parts truck tonight.

Rear is a 12 bolt, unsure if any locker or not, but it's 3.73 ratio. The front is a 10 bolt with 3.73 and uncertain if it's LSD or Locker but it does have OEM Spicer manual locking hubs.

That truck is ready for the scale now. Next up, is get the 3.73 10 bolts with Detroit Locker rear axle and front ARB air locker out of the Burb, then someone else gets the motor, trans and tcase which is fine with me. I just want those axles !!!

A pic of the 80 GMC as it gets its organs harvested, and then what was left. As you can tell the boys at work had some fun.

Yes, the silver and gray door was good. The original white doors were in pretty bad shape though, and that was the one on the passenger side. All done now though. Took it over the scale today and he got $349.60 for what was left after I robbed the 12 bolt rear, 10 bolt front, Th350/NP205 and 350 motor with headers, Performer and Holley Vac Secondary 750 which is to big. Still, he got good scrap money for a shell of a truck. I thru in another $50 cash to make it an even $400 for what all I kept off of it, and what he paid for the truck.
