OEM "Original Equipment Remanufactured" company - any good?

Recently got a brake booster off of ebay that was listed as being remanufactured by Cardone but the only labeling on it is for "OEM". Anyone heard of this company and are they any good at remanufacturing brake parts?

Selling tactic, but that doesn't mean that they are niot good, especially if they are rebuilding original oem parts. You can research the manufacturer of the parts though. When I was researching front drivelines for my square, I found out that Dorman are USA made.

Yep that's a whole parts house right there.... You don't think about all the companies that make/sell parts, until something like this happens. I've bought/sold and used most of those brands for decades.

well, I still want to sue Callahan Brakes for stealing my idea for taking the name from Tommy Boy if the movie company did not copy-write it for a real auto parts company. (unknown who or what makes Callahan brakes in real life today, in the green box like the movie)

Well deficate. That explains the crap quality of the rebuilt calipers on the Grand Caravan. Both rears warranted and I suspect that the leaks will return. Grrr.

Crap shoot these days - if you buy internet, and can not handle the goods before purchase.
Everything is made to a price point, and most "brands" are now re-sellers, not manufacturers, therefore brand is unlikely these days to reflect quality of the part.

My approach these days has developed to -
1/. do not throw away any original parts from the truck, and re-furbish whenever possible ( obviously not consumables, seals gaskets etc. )
2/. accept possibility of poor quality when buying off the internet, as prices ( benefit ) are typically 1/2 to 1/3 of my local auto parts supply ( and frequently un-economic to pay for shipping returns )
3/. buy locally from auto parts shop when ie either need stuff in a hurry, or need to ensure it is correct is case of return ( eg. when there are 3 variations of brake hose or CV boot listed )

Having said the above, I have had generally good / serviceable parts / tools arrive through mail order, and only occasionally complete garbage.

Also - bought both the cheapest and the most expensive option for a power steering pump re-build kit from Rock Auto last year, and despite different packaging / labelling the "quality" looked identical. So in this case, cheaper price wins ...
