Odd "Misfire"? on 2013 Yukon Denali

Also, if you have any kind of cam in it, you don't need to run premium. I only run higher grade when towing and have not noticed it knocking or kicking down into the low octane tables running cheap grade 87 Octane around town or unloaded on the highway. I have occasionally run mid-grade when lightly towing and also had no issues. That's with a TSP VVT stage 1 cam in it.

Delco 41-110 plugs. I'm looking for a receipt or something but not finding it. It wasn't Amazon this last time, I know that. I try to avoid potentially scammy stuff, but maybe I just got some bum ones. I dunno, but I'll run it a while and see if they look like they are taking a premature beating and go from there. I'm up for trying different plugs, I can't remember if these were what someone recommended or just the part number I could chase down?

I've always assumed "bad gas" was a myth. I have never got bad gas from a station, nor do I know anyone that has.

It is usually water contamination. I have seen it happen, but it is very rare anymore. It still does happen at airports and has caused several aircraft to crash. The tier of gas isn't really a quality rating, it is more related to the amount of detergent that is in the fuel. The premium tier fuel has a pretty heavy detergent package and does a good job of keeping the fuel system clean.

I think the 41-110 is the same plug as the 41-162, but the 41-110 should have an NGK part number stamped on the lip if it is a genuine plug.

I've definitely gotten bad gas a handful of times in my life. As stated, it's usually just high water/moisture content. Makes the vehicle very unhappy

Actually, this post has pretty good details about the difference between the 41-110 and 41-162. If you managed to find new 41-110, they weren't made lately. AC Delco discontinued them in favor of the 41-162 because they were switching vendors.

When I oversaw the county airport I was out there on a Saturday while it was raining. I saw the underground 100LL fuel tank inlet under water. When I went back on Sunday the water was gone. I thought the water soaked in to the dirt. On Monday I spent 4 hours using our little hand pump sucking out water from the fuel until pure fuel was coming out. I forget how many gallons were removed but it was substantial.

I had 2 in the shed, bought 6 more from my local OReilley. I can't find receipts either way on the old ones, I'll see if they haven't been tossed out yet and get a better look at them, but this is what I have on hand. New and old both marked 41-110, didnt look at the stamped numbers or anything else.

I had 2 in the shed, bought 6 more from my local OReilley. I can't find receipts either way on the old ones, I'll see if they haven't been tossed out yet and get a better look at them, but this is what I have on hand. New and old both marked 41-110, didnt look at the stamped numbers or anything else.

Wow... the entire electrode being gone from that one with only ~30k miles on it is crazy... that shouldn't happen

That's my thought, and all 8 were the same.
It's possible they were a crap set, maybe the electrode was advertised as the correct unobtanium but was actually just cheap stuff?
And it's possible my ADD got me and I put in a worn out set for some reason then just forgot about it (I've admittedly done worse before), but even then, I had the engine apart a year ago and there's zero chance I'd have installed anything that looked like those, so even if they were "half gone", they would have had to lose the other half in 10k miles. I'm just not seeing it.

I'll run these from the parts house for a while and inspect them. I don't know of what else would cause them to get worn out that quickly. and I'll see if I have one of the old ones to check for forgery, but today was trash day and I'm pretty sure they were all in the trash on the curb when I left.

I haven't even looked at mine since I swapped it in a few years ago. That was 30k miles ago. I'll have to take them out and look at them when I do the cam swap I guess.

What cam are you going with? I did the Summit baby cam (I'd have to find the part number, but it was the smallest truck cam, I think), I think it could have had the next one up with no issues, but I'm not unhappy with it as-is.
