Hi all! Figured I should join a discussion board since I've got free time now after graduating pilot training.
I've had my little 1987 R10 since I was a High School sophomore and she's been my constant companion through college and flight school. Been in the family since new.
Originally it had a 305, but it wouldn't have done well driving to college so we put a rebuilt 350 in, swapped in 3.73 gears (the dif is still open though), and had a custom dual exhaust installed (hedman long tubes into the cats, then to an x-pipe, through thrush 21'' glasspacks, 2.5" pipe throughout). When it came time to rebuild the tranny I had a 5 pinion planetary put in, new clutch packs, and a B&M shift kit. Super reliable truck, just not the fastest around
