I'd like to see what C4 has to say about it, in the mean time, I'll be looking for links for this swap. Also 83K needs to let us know if he is currently SM465 or auto? What I do know already without even looking, is IF he is currently running a SM465, he can use the same clutch set up, but will change the clutch disk. He can also use the same bell housing but it'll need machined to a bigger opening to allow the input shaft nose cover to fit the old bell housing since its bigger on the NV4500. OR replace the bell housing all together with updated unit. Also, if he is SM465 or auto for that matter, he will need to acquire a Tcase adapter. As GC said, its pretty straightforward, just a matter of acquiring the right parts to bolt in. There is no fancy machinging needed, or fabrication needed I know. You can even use the same Tcase crossmember. Those are the things I know about swap so far. I'd love to do it, IF I had a vehicle that was already SM465. If not, I'd want to acquire a vehicle that is SM465 to make sure I have all the correct linkages, pedal, bellhousing etc. And having the bell housing machined should not cost but about $20. IF you were careful, you could probably do it yourself with a deburring tool. It might not be perfectly round, but it doesn't have to be just so long as the trans bolts up.
