Hey guys,
Scooped up a 1974 C20 while I was deployed to Iraq in 2005. I've done a bit of work, but now in the process of turning it into a K20. I just bought a complete doner frame for 500 bills in usable condition. Unfortunately the bell housing on the tranny is cracked so that will need to be replaced but its still a good deal. I want to make it 4WD little life, maybe 4 inches, throw a locker in the rear and call it good. I have no intentions to go heaving muddying with it or anything like that. Just want to have a mildly capable off road vehicle.
Other then that can't wait to get back to the states, stationed in Germany right now so my project is on hold until I get back to America.
Guess that's it for now.

Here's a picture of my rig when we were stationed in California. It ain't perfect, but I don't want it to be.

Looks great. Is it dark blue or purple? There is a purple one that looks alot like yours across from where I work that I have had my eye on for a long time now. Enjoy her when you make it back to the states.

Howdy! Looks pretty nice to me (and kinda resembles O77's truck).

It's a real dark blue. It could be purple I suppose, depends on how you're looking at it. It looks dark blue to me, so that's what I call it. Some have told me its purple... So take your pick I suppose.

It's a 74. I suppose some of the stuff could have been swapped out by other people through out the years but I doubt it. I'm the second owner of it. Bought it from an old mans family after the man passed. When I got it, it had around 71,000 on it.

From Springport, It's about 15 minutes north of Albion.

I've looked around on the site and haven't quite found anything. I want to convert the truck from 2WD to 4WD then lift it. I was thinking 2-4" but want it to still be smoothish on the road and offroad capable. Thoughts/suggestions?

Sell your truck to me a buy a 4x4. Honestly the consensus will probably be the find a 4x4 chassis and swap your cab and running gear over. Or cut off the front of your 2wd frame and weld on the front of a 4x4 frame. Or sell it and buy a 4x4.
