Hey everyone, new guy here from Central Illinois. A couple weeks ago I picked up an awesome 78 Scottsdale, c10 big 10. I was ecstatic to get my hands on this! Extremely original, just a half dollar spot of rust on the driver cab corner, no other rust. Drive it home 2 hours no problem!

Im 4th owner, prior owners never drove the truck in the winter from what I’ve been told. Just on here to search around for this and that. Plans for now, just put a set of rally’s on it and drive it. Long term maybe get a bit more but I’m not going to butcher it. I like stock, but also like a little more modern touch. I already took off the running boards and that made a huge difference! (Running boards are spoken for)

Welcome. Hard to believe a beauty as clean as that came from Illinois. I drove a 77 GMC Sierra K15 in 1986 from Illinois that was about rusted to the upper fender trim strips, lol.
I loved that truck but there was no point in locking the doors.

Welcome to the forum from Houston, Texas, gorgeous truck! Two of our square body Burbs were this color combo, one of my favorites.

Thanks! I was in total disbelief when I started crawling around it. The truck was sold new in Illinois, and stayed here all its life. Floors, supports, inner and outer rockers…bedsides…like I said, just cab corner on driver side has a half dollar hole; passenger has very light bubbles which we all know if more under the paint. I do paint and body work for a living so maybe winter time I’ll give it a factory correct paint job but for the time being, I’m pretty content seeing its character.

I’m really looking forward to seeing how it looks once the hubcaps are gone
