Still working in the truck, now the heater blower is not working, so I found a wiring manual for an 85 on ebay, be here in a week. Speedo does not work?, and leaking diesel, pooh. fix something and something else wants attention. That heater wiring is a bugger to find and trace too, so the shop heater has been on a couple hours, so time to get on it. 26* this morning.

Today was fairly productive, in that I got the fuel line fixed that was leaking diesel, but boy, it was a p-----. I was able to get to the clamps from underneath, barley, with a 1/4 in socket, got pretty dieseled up when the line came off and I was looking up at it from underneath, yeah you'all had it done to you too. anyway, I think I will research something different, like this?

I have had it with rubber hose. The speedo wasn't working, and while I was under the truck, noticed that I forgot to hook up the cable.....something Perry would probably do. Anyway, it's attached. Spent the rest of the day cleaning, polishing, and waxing the truck, and it looks pretty good. also got a new book coming, 1985 chevy or GMC wiring, Want to find an assembly manual if I can.

Dang, today fuel still leaking...but I did get the heater all done, but the heater controls don't seem to work, but the heater puts out plenty of air. Pics are for reference, this is how the switch should be wired, and yes, it is specific.

More parts to install hopefully get some of this done today, but I still need to fix the fuel leak. have ordered the late model quick connect fittings and nylon hose good for 200 psi. It’s gonna be a few days before it gets here.

Got that job done it wasn’t too bad. Haven’t had a chance to run it much, but it seems a little stiffer which I like.

However, on the other hand, installing the airbags were kind of a pita, the passenger side has a bracket for the load sensing Brake proportion valve. It was right in the way, so you have to take those rivets out of there by grinding and then punching out. I then used those holes to bolt in the right side of the bracket. Left side, used the bracket as a templet. the brake likes were not in the way. This is the drill sharpening method I use it’s called thinning the web, makes it much easier to drill through steel not as much pressure required anyway there she is all in.

A few more. In the first picture, on this side there is a flange that is built in. I had to cut out on both sides a 1/2 deep by 2inch long channel that allowed the bracket to fit up into the bed rails so I could drill the holes where I wanted on the frame. I haven't finished with the air hoses, as I want a T in there so when I air up the bags, they will have the same pressure, the kit is individual, which I dislike. Anyway hope to get something tomorrow, and finish this up. Last picture is clearance from the bump stop to bag.

Well the airbags are just great, Truck looks good, The Redarc trailer controller is super, and the Retrosound radio is such a blessing. Starter Bendix is kicking out early, but still working, but may need replacement. All in all satisfied and tickled to. Jan and the pups will take the 25 mile gravel back road to Ellensburg to deliver some gifts to our Nephew and Niece, who is pregnant and due today. We use the Polaris Ranger, it is licensed, and a ton of fun on roads like that. It will be muddy, as it just is poring rain here today. We also plan to stop at the Whipsaw brewing company for some tasty beers before heading home the back way. Good wife, good pups, good fun.
