Almost perfect body, 36-22-38. Has an overdrive trans, looks like it may be an early 4l80e. Fuel injector pump out, so prior owner did not want to put a couple thou into it, but I am confident with a little study I can R and R and get her running. This is, from what I understand, the Detroit motor, not the Oldsmobile diesel. I will document the build for future reference for others. She a peach.

Feel free to chime in 6.2 motor owners as to where to find information on this engine. Internet has some great videos on R&R the pump. Looks like a sorta big job, but fairly straight forward.

Wow, clean truck!
Out of curiosity what’s the story behind it?
Clean original 30+ year old trucks don’t just fall out of the sky anymore!

Got from a guy on Camino Island WA. he used it to pull a little boat and trailer, and just to haul junk occasIonally. Has 62000 original miles. He was the second owner I believe. Has tilt, cruse air, and a center counsel, 16 inch tires. I think it is a early 4l80e, as it is a little different from my 1999 4l80e. Does not have a TV cable like my 700r4.

Welcome aboard. My favorite truck ;)

If a THM400 is an early 4L80, you're right.

Injection pump and R & R are straightforward. Ask away.

Wow time capsule ole Grampa truck!
That truck would be the 3L80, no E, or turbo 400 in layman’s terms.

Get a picture of the pan or even better the ID tag on the passenger side of the trans, we'll be able to tell you exactly what it is. Pics of pan and both sides would be best for identification. It's possible for someone to have swapped in a 90's Engine/trans with a 4L80e on a standalone controller, but not likely. The injector pump is kind of a pain, but not too bad. We used to do them in a few hours on the HMMWV's.
